I saw that, THIS is a good game. Might buy it from there to have a properly compatible copy. The old one gets held up at the video card check forcing a change in launching it.
Probably my favorite space sim, looks better than it's age would lead you to believe too. Good physics and navigation, and you can't just run in blasting. Takes very well to a flight stick as well as smoothly playable on a netbook.
Only "drawback" is anywhere you go is in some kind of nebula with color all around, no dark space--at least as far as I made it in the game.

Hmmm,I fancy another game set in space.I do have X3 Terran Conflict, but I know that if I install it again,I will be pulling my hair out after an hour just trying to understand the basics banghead

Mace,I notice you have X3 TC,how do you get on with it?

*Edit* I just bought IW2.It's a steal.Lets hope I can understand it.

Any way to change the resolution ? It looks a little blocky or is that what we used to have a couple of years ago ?

I think the game was originally released in 1999,so I guess it's not going to look too good.
I have just finished downloading mine, but it will have to wait until tomorrow night,I need some sleep.

Released in 2001, it can look great on a new system. I had the cd copy at 720P, if not 1080P.
Much easier to sink into than the X games, and there's a solid story as well as going solo. It's more complex than Darkstar One, but once you understand the HUD menu, you see how easy it is to get around.

Hmm, major issues with Win7 64 bit.
I know I've run it on XP on my netbook and Vista 32 on a lower model graphics card. Must have to do with higher resolutions and/or 64 bit.
Tried cuttin vsync, shading and dropped to 1280x768 and it ran better, but not perfect. A little high for this game anyway. 1920x1080 was unplayable.

I'm like you with X3, I install it and then try and play it but I don't know what to do and end up not playing again. I can't trade as I have no idea where to sell to to make money and end up flying around looking at stuff lol.
