Thanks to LesterBoffo, FS-WWI will be getting an R.E.8! He sent over the .AC files yesterday and it looks like I will be able to import this into SDOE. I've got to rescale, rotate and of course be sure the shading is correct.

I will keep progress posted here. I will be needing a skinner once I have everything mapped the way I want it. I will have to remap the fuselage so its top and bottom don't have texture stretching.

It's starting to look like an airplane:



The FM coding has begun. I do it as I import the parts...

The engine, exhaust, prop, front Vickers gun, wheel struts and wheels are now inplace:

I am making some progress this morning!

As you can see, the rudder, VStab, Hstabs and wing struts are in place. Also, I added the pilot and the gunner. If you look closely, you might even spot the bomb racks for the wings.

Also, I have distributed and sized the inertia placement:



Left to do:

Flight Model tuning
BodyPoint placement
Damage model
Interior modeling of the cockpit and gunner
3d Shadow

The flight model is in place
Shadow is done
The BodyPoints are done
Damaged model and references are done.

Now on to the rigging!

I'm putting in the basic cockpit framing 3d model now. Then on to the actual instrument placement.

After that, all she will need is a hi-res skin! Anyone care to attempt one for me?
