I recently watched "Predator" on bluray and I think I'm convinced more than ever now that the final confrontation/duel between Arnold and the Predator is the greatest human vs alien duel I've ever seen. What are some other good examples?

Some others that came to my mind,

Ripley vs. queen alien in Aliens
Danny Glover vs Predator
Kirk vs. Gorn

I think Ripley in Aliens takes the top spot.

I'll add one to the list, although I didn't like the movie, but that's Independence Day.

Oh, plus about any '50s sci-fi stuff, and of course Mars Attacks.

Or are you talking one-on-one encounters? I can't think of too many of those.

@ 20mm - Pitch Black is a great one. Riddick laying the smack down on one of those flying monsters was very cool to see. smile
