Is there anyway to turn down the music just a tiny bit?
I'm running a Gigabyte P35-DS3L, Intel E6750 duo-core 2.66 Ghz, 2Gb ram,Nvidia 8800 GT video card with 512 memory.
Running at 1680 x 1050 x 32 no antialiasing ,but with clouds on setting 2 everything slows down quite a bit. Not sure what framerate is, is there a frame counter in the sim?
Other than that its red baron all over again. The music is great BTW its just a bit loud and sets the mood very well.
BTW I ordered a joystick from Amazon and OFF at the same time. OFF came 2 days before my joystick, great response !

Bruce: Welcome to OFF. You're asking a lot of questions that are covered in the FAQ section of the site, I think? Anyway, do you mean the music in the menue screens? I just turn my speakers down, but not sure what you are asking. You can disable videos, etc., in the workshop preferences too. You can change the ambient sounds to be louder in the Workshop area and decrease the engine sound.

There is the very good sticky just above, OFF Essential Tips, etc., which answers a lot of questions here.

Yes I did read all the FAQ pages and graphics as well, and yes sometime you miss things too. But I did not see anything about lowering the music. I did go into the workshop area and lowered the U/I volume sounds , but it had no effect whatsoever on the music, or when the sim actually begins a mission and they have a voice saying "clear" and then the engine startup, Those are very loud compared to the actual ingame sounds.
Is there a way to lower those particular sounds ?
Sorry about all the questions , but even the frame counter was hard to find, which is why I asked, and also sent out a couple PM's as well.
I'm also not getting any email notifications of answers to my questions, even though I have them checked off "Add this thread to my watched topics", so I constantly have to come here to know If anyone answered or not. Not really a big deal, but something that should be working, but for some reason isn't.
So I'm not just trying to be annoying here, and yes I'm sure the questions have been asked before, although I also did a search before I asked them.

OK, just surfing the posts and thought I would add to the music/sound question:

I agree that the "Contact.. Start" is pretty loud, but it's supposed to sort of get you pumped up for the flight. Anyway, other then just turning down the volume on your speaker, you could go into the C:\OBDsoftware folders and either disable a sound by renaming it, or editing it in a sound editor so that it has a lower volume. The best free editor I have found is Audacity which you can dl on line.

The startup.wav and hangarfademusic.wav are both the "Contact..start" sounds
It and all the music wav files are in the campaigns\campaigndata\shellmuic folder

There is also a uimusic.wav file in the \sounds folder.

Strange as it's fine for the OFF team, guess the zillion of PCs configurations out there some are hearing that loud. Try turning sounds down in Windows for media player in windows, as OFF uses that for some initial sounds. You can then turn UP the sounds in OFF Manager workshop for other things (see top middle area in Workshop).
