Geez Timothy... I agree with VF9_Longbow - those pics are too graphic to be posted like this w/o a warning. That said, sorry to hear to what you've been through! Sounds like a nightmare.

Luxembourg is a great little country! Moved here with my wife after a 9 year stint of living in the USA. How did you end up with knowing someone here in Lux?

As I said you are the first person I have ever communicated with from Luxembourg, I will do some research on your adopted country to fill in the blanks in my head since right now I have the idea that everyone in Luxembourg rides a white horse and wears a fancy military uniform.

You should give us a brief idea of Lux Life being you can compare it to USA Life. Long live the Grand Duke of Luxembourg smile

"I want to be able to say I have an acquaintance in that fine country"

^^ Sorry about that - I miss-read that sentence thinking you already knew someone here.

Well, not sure if we should hijack this thread here to talk about Luxembourg, really. But - in a nutshell - life in Luxembourg is not bad at all. From my experience the cost of living is rather high, and rents are comparable with NY City. And no - no white horses; most people here in Lux seem to have enough money to drive Porsches, Jaguars, Aston Martins, and other exotic sports cars.

So, where does your interest in Lux come from, Hankmc?

In all honesty Rainer it is strictly in the romance of the name which I put into the same slot as Monaco and other places that seem not of this planet. Strictly James Bond territory where folks wear a tuxedo to go to the local diner for two eggs over easy and some greasy bacon, rye toast with plenty of butter please.

You're sure about the white horses eh? Still sounds like a nice place to hang your Homburg. A pleasure talking to you sir. Keep us abreast of life in Lux in a separate thread if you have something interesting you would like to share with those of us in the cheap seats smile

What a marvelous thread! People LOVE to talk about their operations and various medical issues!

More people should post pictures if they have them! Why was this charming assortment allowed to slide to page 167? Treasures like this should not be lost. Now go review the 5 pages.

So, it's been quite awhile! Surely someone has had some surgery or a major medical condition since this thread was last active?

Me? I don't remember what operations I've had. Apparently I was unconscious at the time.

Cheers!

I wish I had pics of when my knee was open - big diamond that covered half of the kneecap - full of what looked like cranberries and sauce. Very coool.

Since this thread I had the ordeal of kidney stones. Yikes! I'll take getting shot over the pain of kidney stones.

Sweet, sweet morphine, you are my angel.

I had Kidneys Stones at 25. The Demerol was pretty nice.
The Kidney Stones hurt like hell.

Reading some of these I am glad the most I ever had was a simple hernia surgery.

Demerol is the worst drug ever.

For me it's a lights on/lights off drug.

"Ow. Doc, how about something for the pain?"
"Here's some demerol."
* Zonk *
[four hours later]
* Ping *
[awake]

"Ow. Doc, how about something for the pain?"

Plus I think I hit every side effect listed as "possible." The worst was the constipation; it actually hurt backing up and not being able to go.
