Yes Kempston, I did a lot of work to get the flaps to work, because they have to be built into the wing models. Life in 3DS world is a lot easier than in 3dz world, but once you get your head around how things work, most things are easy to do. I'm just trying to find my way back into a couple of projects, this P40, and the Mossie, now the Ju87 is just about finished. Sometimes trying to return to a project is quite hard, as I need to discover again where I was and what problems I had to fix.

Hi Skylark. I sent it to Ray, but he's never done anything with it. When I was doing it, it was being done by piggybacks, something I try not to mess with these days. To revamp that model would take quite a bit of work, as everything would need to be rebuilt properly. That is not to say it could not be done.

Great progress on the P40 John, it looks really sweet, as Chompy said, looks really 'round' It'd be great if the P51 was to get updated (i.e.sans piggybacks) as, when I lost contact with eaw, I was in the process of a whole new look skin for p51's and was having some success, I think I'd enjoy completing that one, if it ever happens.

To clarify, the HR P-51 model set is about the best we have.
It does bother me that no one seems to remember all the work I did on this model. I suppose it's my own fault for not advertising my accomplishments.
The original HR P-51 has been completely fixed to remove all the R/S problems. True, it was done by the liberal application of piggybacks but the user wouldn't know the difference.
In addition, that model set, P-51B, P-51D, P-51G, P-51H, P-51X and A-36 is the only set that utilizes the 3 position flaps as well as the working divebrakes on the A-36 version.
It also has enhanced tires, a much improved canopy and other rounded off segments.
So quite honestly, I don't know what else could be done to it.
However, I'm not sure that Skylark is asking about this set as he has all of those models. He may be referring to the UHR model that has been on the back burner for a few years.
