When I begin to play I have nothing but a 'black screen'--if I use the 'virtual cockpit' the sight lines can be made out but everything else is black; sound is fine & the guide screens are fine...just when I start to fly.

I know your problem. Had the same problem.

You need to set the monitor resolution to 1080,
then go to game.

BTW this also opened it up big for my projection
system, all i had to do in Win 7 after this was to
increase icon sizes, and play with Ctrl+ to increase
text, super crisp images and text.

Well I'm only using WinXp; I don't have a 1080 resolution setting; I only have:

800 x 600

1024 x 768

1152 x 864

1280 x 768

1280 x 960

1280 x 1024

Any other suggestions?

-OS
-Display
-Graphics card

NickM,

I'm using 1280 x 1024. I've had the same prob creeping on me once in a while but by left-clicking the bottom on the "black screen" once all is then ok.
If I remember properly, I once used a lower rez setting and upon launching a mission there is a "skip" line that should be clicked before seeing the cockpit and controls. If you don't click "skip" nothing happens besides audio background.

my 2 cents anyway. Also running the demo.

PLEASE IGNORE THE ABOVE, WRONG SIM... THOUGHT I WAS POSTING ON RISE OF FLIGHT ! soz
