Hello Guys,

Wings of Prey is on sale for 20% off at Yuplay and I am thinking of buying this game.

However, after watching several movies from youtube I've come to notice that the cockpit sound of the aircraft in this game is fairly the same.

It sounds like they've created a default internal cockpit sound and applied it to all aircraft. I mean, how could a monster radial engine like the Jumo 213 sound like the in-line Merlin III?

I'll illustrate with some videos.

The engines depicted here are the Allison V-1710, the Daimler Benz DB 605, the Jumo 213, the DB 605 again in the BF110 and probably a Rolls Royce Merlin III in the Hurricane.

I mean, they are completely different animals, yet in these videos they all sound very, very much the same.

Don't take me wrong. I think this is a beautiful game, but after flying IL2 1946 for a few years and more lately after enjoying the accuracy of some sounds from the latest mods, I though that a game with the potential Wings of Prey has would recreate with great detail internal cockpit sounds.

I'm not bashing or criticizing the game. I'd just like some info from you guys who own the game and have it patched to the latest version. Are the cockpit sounds really the same? Or are these videos from earlier version (one one them if from a Beta, I think) and do not depict the reality of the fully-patched product?

Thanks for any information and help. beercheers

They're all the same and have no variance at all other than when WEP is engaged, unlike IL2 you cannot hear the engine rpm change.
