gprr, run the IL2 Setup program. Under the graphics settings area, select Radeon from the drop down menu. Save that, then go back to your config.ini file and set Water=2, forest=3 and effects=2 near the bottom.

Thankes ArgonV

Updatet results with V.Sync=on :

When TexFlags.ClipHintExt=1 :
Frames Time (ms) Min Max Avg
8742--- 150000------- 37---- 64---- 58.28

That is for my setup, is not reccomend to leave it =1 as the guide here says:
http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/23110283/m/8421008855

effects=2 is not reccomended - it is problem creator and it didn't change anything for me.
After testing, chose to stay with 9.10 ogl driver because it is smoother and has better FPS than 10.5 !!!
CAT 10.3 are best but contain blocky text that hase to be removed before gaming.

Update #2:
Went back to CAT 10.3 to avoid CCC settings being reset on PC reboot.
Went back to LandShading=3 because Blocky text can't be cleard in 10.3 if set to other than =3 + hate to know some explosion shadows are lost(cr
azy
me
screwy)

Cheers

So far no IL-2 OpenGL issues with 10.5 (system below ATI HD5830) -- getting a decent average 71 FPS in BlackDeath at 1920x1200 all graphics max settings (Excellent and Perfect) -- no vsync.

Thanks for posting you .ini settings -- made it easy to try.

FWIW, with my modest HD5830, your settings did improve my average BlackDeath FPS from 71 to 76. My minimum stayed the same at 23 FPS. No hesitations -- just smooth.

Do your settings improve the quantity of trees or make other graphical improvements vs basic in-game settings? If so, the increase is even better.

Works OK, so I'll leave it that way smile

Glad to help Allen

To answer best would be to compare your old conf flie vs new one.

Main quallity feature is explaind here(=3,means Anisotropic)

"Texture Mipmap Filter - Simply put, this setting affects how sharp a texture may look when viewed from large angles or distances. Anisotropic offers the best image quality at a usually heavy performance loss (only people with good video card should use this), and bilinear filtering offers the best performance at a still acceptable texture quality. Trilinear is a tiny bit better than bilinear (it smoothes the transitions between mipmap levels) and the performance hit is very minimal depending on your video card. I recommend bilinear but it is up to personal taste and your hardware"

This is taken from here:
http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/23110283/m/8421008855

I,use AF(Anisotropic)=16 to have max quallity always, you can set it as application controlled in ATI CCC and that will be the optimum of IQ and FPS set by the game.

Cheers
