I just read the release notes:
Enabling hardware shaders (perfect mode) no longer causes text and on-screen menu corruption while loading missions in "IL-2 Sturmovik: 1946" game

I haven't seen the prop disk problem. What planes? Or all of them?

Hi all
1.Blue hue not fixe yet, need the workorunds. 2.New problem since CAT 10.4 - propeller disck flashes.
Posted these on Catalyst crew feedback - ATI/AMD site.
gprr I think propeller disk flashes are the driver losing Vsync. Try this, turn on vsync then run a single mission noting your frame rate. Shouldn't go above your monitor refresh rate (mine is 60). Then go into a multiplayer mission and note framerate to see if it goes higher than refresh and propeller flashing, screen tearing. I am definately losing vsync since 10.5. Sucks because blocky textures fixed and otherwise seems to have nice image quality. Back to using 9.10 Ogl driver in the IL2 main directory.

Thanks Labroisse Always use FRAPS,watched FPS when flashing and it stayed solid rock 60 FPS. Yea,back to 9.10 thingy:( or installing best driver - 10.3,clearing blocky text via track play or quick mission and joining game via IP adress:(((( gprr

I have had none of those problems... Are you sure you removed the old OpenGL DLL file from the IL-2 folder?

gprr, run the IL2 Setup program. Under the graphics settings area, select Radeon from the drop down menu. Save that, then go back to your config.ini file and set Water=2, forest=3 and effects=2 near the bottom.

That is for my setup, is not reccomend to leave it =1 as the guide here says: http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/23110283/m/8421008855effects=2 is not reccomended - it is problem creator and it didn't change anything for me. After testing, chose to stay with 9.10 ogl driver because it is smoother and has better FPS than 10.5 !!! CAT 10.3 are best but contain blocky text that hase to be removed before gaming. Update #2: Went back to CAT 10.3 to avoid CCC settings being reset on PC reboot. Went back to LandShading=3 because Blocky text can't be cleard in 10.3 if set to other than =3 + hate to know some explosion shadows are lost(crazy me ) Cheers gprr

So far no IL-2 OpenGL issues with 10.5 (system below ATI HD5830) -- getting a decent average 71 FPS in BlackDeath at 1920x1200 all graphics max settings (Excellent and Perfect) -- no vsync.
Sapphire Pulse RX7900XTX, 3 monitors = 23P (1080p) + SAMSUNG 32" Odyssey Neo G7 1000R curve (4K/2160p) + 23P (1080p), AMD R9-7950X (ARCTIC Liquid Freezer II 420), 64GB RAM@6.0GHz, Gigabyte X670E AORUS MASTER MB, (4x M.2 SSD + 2xSSD + 2xHD) = ~52TB storage, EVGA 1600W PSU, Phanteks Enthoo Pro Full Tower, ASUS RT-AX89X 6000Mbps WiFi router, VKB Gladiator WW2 Stick, Pedals, G.Skill RGB KB, AORUS Thunder M7 Mouse, W11 Pro

... BlackDeath track result: MIN FPS=37 AVG FPS above 100 ... Thanks for posting you .ini settings -- made it easy to try. FWIW, with my modest HD5830, your settings did improve my average BlackDeath FPS from 71 to 76. My minimum stayed the same at 23 FPS. No hesitations -- just smooth. Do your settings improve the quantity of trees or make other graphical improvements vs basic in-game settings? If so, the increase is even better. Works OK, so I'll leave it that way

Works OK, so I'll leave it that way Glad to help Allen To answer best would be to compare your old conf flie vs new one. Main quallity feature is explaind here(=3,means Anisotropic) "Texture Mipmap Filter - Simply put, this setting affects how sharp a texture may look when viewed from large angles or distances. Anisotropic offers the best image quality at a usually heavy performance loss (only people with good video card should use this), and bilinear filtering offers the best performance at a still acceptable texture quality. Trilinear is a tiny bit better than bilinear (it smoothes the transitions between mipmap levels) and the performance hit is very minimal depending on your video card. I recommend bilinear but it is up to personal taste and your hardware" This is taken from here: http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/23110283/m/8421008855I,use AF(Anisotropic)=16 to have max quallity always, you can set it as application controlled in ATI CCC and that will be the optimum of IQ and FPS set by the game. Cheers gprr
