Never played EECH online in all these years and now would like to but wondered if it is easy to set up a server and have someone join.

Is it a campaign with players flying alongside each other? Can you share the same helo as front and back seaters?

Ive got a v1.13.0 test server up and running for the next couple of hours.

**Note** v1.13.0 appears to be broken regards reporting to master, so you wont see it using Hoxdna, but I can conect via LAN.

If anyone with their ports and firewalls correctly setup for EECH would like to test an internet connect and report success fail here it would be appreciated IP- ***********

Server is offline now. IP removed.

Hi Chad

To join a multiplay game you first need to forward the Directx7 ports as follows-

Port -- Process -- Protocol -- Direction
47624 -- cohokum.exe -- both1 -- both2
2300-2400 -- cohokum.exe -- both1 -- outbound

Also you will have to allow "Cohokum.exe" and "Directplay" helper to pass through your software firewall. No need to search for these as when you first attempt to join a server your firewall will ask permission.

Once you have that done you just need a fly buddy. One of you host buy not entering any IP in the multiplay options and the client will enter the server IP. That all done then the server you entered will show up in the "campaign multiplay" selection. If server does not show then either the server or host has not configured their firewall correctly. We used to obtain host IPs from Hoxdna, but a recent patch has broken the server reporting. You can fly Red or Blue with other human players easy enough.

All that being said once your setup up its as simple as-

1. Hook up with friend on TS or Vent
2. Decide who is hosting and circulate IP
3. Host starts campaign and others join in

In the past we fly both EECH and EE2 extensivly in multiplay until DCS was released. Pretty quiet these days though.

Are you sure it's EECH which broke it, and that it's not the hoxdna server which is broken? Does it show up at hoxdna if you use an older version of EECH to host?

1. Teamspeak or Ventrillo are optional, but if your going to fly multiplay its good to have live Comms with other players.

2. Portfording is done by logging into your router. Link- www.portforward.com

3. Windows Firewall will ask you for permissions the first time you run multiplay.

4. This is the only eech.ini edits

usemaster=1 # Report game to internet masterserver (0 = off/private game, 1 = on) (def = 0) (recommended = 1)
dwash=0 # rotor downwash (dust) (0 = off, 1 = on) (def = 1)

*Note- Downwash should be off for EECH multiplay, but can be left on for EE2 multiplay.
