From the hills rebounding
Let this war cry sounding
Summon all at Cambria's call
The mighty force surrounding

Men of Harlech onto glory
This shall ever be your story
Keep these fighting words before ye
Welshmen never yield

The other day I started looking for acts that were big from 70-75 that I remembered seeing while living in Germany as a kid . . . this was one of the groups I remember hearing/seeing a lot smile

Love this song, and appropriate for Veteran's Day as Still's imagined this song in a dream about the US Civil War.

Brilliant. Solomon Burke. Love it. Sadly under-rated and sadly missed.

Not a big Barry Manilow fan (and I do listen to some sap).

However, his first big hit (I think) borders on [soft] progressive rock once it builds (in a Moody Blues meets ELP kinda way IMO, starting around 2:30)...

Mark,I really like Could it be Magic.Prefer the studio version though.

And it's ABBA night tonight at Chucky Towers yep The length of the outfits Frida and Agnetha are wearing are just about spot on.

I recently revisited my first '80s thread (over a year ago) to make sure I wasn't missing anything...

http://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/3804320/6

...and came upon a pic I posted of guilty pleasures (minus the Bus Boys)...

EDIT: I agree, I also bet we are ALL closet ABBA fans, smile

Side note: I was missing Talking Heads' "Once in a Lifetime"

"Same as it ever was..."

The rusty wire that holds the cork that keeps the anger in
Gives way and suddenly it’s day again
The sun is in the east
Even though the day is done
Two suns in the sunset, hmph
Could be the human race is run
