I have been playing flight sims for over 10 years, Janes stuff, IL-2, CFS 1,2,+3(sad),Falcon AF (didn't get the original, my mistake), Lock on and prior (forgot the name) and getting new computers and video cards to play the newest games. This game is fun. Check out the eye candy and in sim mode with TrackIR it is a great dog fight. And this thing is stable, no COD yet, and I have no idea what the FPS are, but it is smooth. That's my two cents, try the demo (it's free).

Because it is a game with a lot of flaws when it comes to trying to be a simulator and until the devs fix it (which looks like a paid sequel now) it will remain in obscurity.

Developers back on the Yuplay forums. So all is not lost yet.

for me, it ended when i could never find anyone online any more, some bug but no one ever paid any attention to my complaint so I gave up on the game.

looks fantastic...prob best looking WW2 flight game ever...but its no SIM and MP is tosh.

Because it's online component is clunky at best. There is no mission builder and no customizations.. That all translates into nothing that users can contribute to the growth of the sim.. Any new flight sim would do well to consider the 1C model as far as features, content and support goes.. becauase as long as 1C is in the business they will be the standard bearers by which others will be measured. Right now the main thing WoP has going for it over '46 is it's graphics. Eye candy, like a pretty face only goes so far. I agree with you though the sim deserves more recognition than it gets.

Yeah and don't forget the annoying timer...real arcade cheesiness there.

If anyone followed CFS2's lead, and kept an open sim where everything can be tweaked, but had real AI instead of CFS2 useless wingmen. Then give it the beauty of WOP. I'd probably pay 100 bucks for it.

But only then if they didn't milk me for every cent by releasing "pay for" upgrades that give you 1 new plane and 2 new missions.

Oh yeah, if it was open with a mission editor like CFS2, they couldnt scam you this way.

Edit:...now that I am trying to patch this beast let me add another reason: I can't see a big number of people willing to put up with this method of patching, or this many patches for that matter. We're talking SLOOOOOOOOOOOOw. And there better be some file I can save after downloading using yuuplay client, or I'm gonna be pissed.
