Is it possible to have the altitude/speed displayed in English units vice metric? Thihs may be an easy one, I just don't have much time with IL-2.

hello set a key for toggle speed bar and your done.

There is also a mod to set the default values in the HUD as well.
Go to the Mod website and do a search on "HUDConfig_v1.rar"
This is a mod to set the default settings to either imperial (mph/ft), Meric(kmh/meters) or IAS/KIAS
I use this and it is one of the must have mods.
If you cant find it let me know and I can send it to you.

No need for any mods if u just want to change the speed bar. DaveKelly is correct, but I'll be a little more specific.

From the main menu, go to the controls and scroll down until u see Speed Bar. By default there is no key binded to it, so you will have to assign one yourself.

Now when you enter the game, you can switch between KPH, MPH and Knots. It helps me a lot to switch to MPH, because I'm American and have used imperial measurements my entire life.

I wonder what ever happened to the US changing over to the metric system? When I was in school, it was said we were going to be completely metric within 5 years. That was 30+ years ago.

tried three times to register using copy and paste for some silly registration code and was told all three times code not correct. this program is not worth it to keep trying to register so i can download from there site. i will use a key to cycle thru.
