Yeah - as some of you know, I've been racing for years, online and a couple of decades ago, in RL - but this wasn't a frustration entirely born of the Fuji race.
Think I mentioned after the test race that I've been racing with some guys in a 'league' based in Europe, and it was just like a demolition derby every race. Not all of the drivers there were like that - but enough to make it a frustrating experience, every race. You'd always hope for better next time, but it never turned out that way. Apparently, people have left in droves - and no wonder. It's not nice trying to race while people are yelling at each other on TS.
That's why I came here to SimHQ, because I know what a great experience it can be, racing here. I raced here a few times, about 3 or 4 years ago - mostly coached and encouraged by a great guy from India, called Vikz (where is he now, I wonder?).
My experience in the Fuji race was definitely not indicative of the kind of race that one can generally expect here at SimHQ - and if that is the impression it's giving you, then it's wrong.
With such a large field and a relatively small track for it, I always expected problems, but I hoped to get around them. It just so happens that the issues left me at the back and a long way behind everyone else, with a slow car (damaged) and totally lost rhythm.
In the old days, I'd have stuck with it (as I did a few times back then - anyone remember the GPC79 series?) but after the problems with the league I'd been in, it was always going to be a test of my patience, if something went wrong - and I failed, miserably
So please don't take my grumpiness as an indication that it's Whacky Races here - it isn't and I'll be careful what I post in future

In any case, I'm a nutter who suffers from bipolar disorder - so you shouldn't take anything I say as 'read', okay?

Now stop reading this waffle and go get practising for Mid Ohio - else you'll be blaming me for that place you didn't make in qualifying.
