Neca and reflected - I definitely want to expand mission types. This is on the to-do list:

Add ground attack missions
Solo Flights
Escort missions
Two seaters sometimes have escorts

Intercept is there - I call it CAP but it really is more of an intercept than a CAP. IMHO very historical. Squadrons were wired to the front and would receive calls when enemy flights were coming. Being WWI there was no radar or anything of the sort so the squadron would more or less fly to where they believed the enemy was heading. The CAP missions are very much like that.

OzZiggy - I think that it can be done since the missions are designed to meet in the middle. In truth I am not sure of all that differentiates a co-op from a single play mission.

Finally got this to work. I was missing a needed folder that the program was looking for. Campaigns. I didn't have it, so I created it and it's now working.
Flew my first mission with an SE-5 Squadron, on a cold January morning, 1918.
I fell far behind my flight , when I suddenly spotted two dots above them. I fired a flare, and then promptly lost sight of every body. Then became lost! Headed back for Allied lines and landed at the first field I saw.
It all felt very real, and unfortunately, I can easily imagine myself doing something as stupid as this in real life.
At least I survived my first patrol. I'd like to know what happened to the rest of the flight. Too bad the AI can't file combat reports , too.
This is a great add-on for this sim.

Thanks Pat, good to hear that!
Don't get us wrong, I don't mean to complain or whine. Your CG is better than the stock career, the QMB and the campaign mode put together! That's why I care so much and I thought I'd share some ideas. Anyway, I really appreciate your work, it has given me hours of great fun and immersion!

PS, I've figured out how to transfer Berry Bowman from 56 sqn so I can be the CO biggrin

Thanks again for the updated CG Pat! I finally had a chance to fly a mission last night. The O.Ltn led our flight of 4 south for a patrol over the front. We get into a tangle with some camels and I've got my head on a swivel. I'm fighting my own battles and trying to keep and eye out for my mates. I've got my bucket full with mental notes and map locations of downed a/c as I trudge back to base. I'm already composing in my head, an AAR that, by virtue of its own eloquence and detail will bestow upon me accolades and medals! I land, end the mission and jump over to your CG...and, hey, where's this new AAR thingy?? I fill out my normal report and submit. I look for the report page but find nothing. Now I'm confused and disappointed. In a huff, I open my folder to find that I'm still running 4.0 because I didn't install 4.2 correctly. smile

Oh well, it was a hell of a fun mission and the immersion was through the roof, as I was in expectation of a "debrief". I flew another CAP after sorting out my install and was able to fully appreciate the AAR experience. A fantastic feature of your wonderful addon!

With the report debrief, and the other additions, how does Pat's campaign differ from OFF?

Pat, love your campaign, you are doing an excellent job.

I have a point, small and picky, please forgive me.

Is it possible in the drop down menu for the Allied aircraft (Brit ones SE5a/Camel etc) to have RFC instead of RAF?

A mission made in 1917 there was no RAF they flew for the Royal Flying Corp (RFC) or Royal Naval Air Service (RNAS).

In April 1918 they amalgamated and became the Royal Air Force (RAF).

I usually fly 92 Sqn flying SE5a's in your campaigns, but in the latest version they are no more, any reason? pitchafit

There's no 92 sqn Se5a because in time you choose, 92 sqn didn't have any Se5a's smile

By your smug reply......

Sorry, I obviously didn't make myself clear.

The example was for the RAF designation. It should be RFC/RNAS before 1st April 1918

1 The RAF was formed in 1st April 1918, all reference to flights before that date should be RFC or RNAS.

As for 92 Sqn
2. 92 Sqn flew SE5a on the Western Front, they were available in the previous versions. I wondered why not in this version.
As a guess I assume they didn't fly in this area of the map if you are trying to keep it accurate?

92 Sqn History
No 92 Squadron was formed at London Colney on 1 September 1917 as a fighter unit and moved to France in July 1918. It was engaged in fighter and ground attack duties over the Western Front for the rest of the war and disbanded on 7 August 1919.

Link to RAF website

RAF History Website

More History
92 Sqn RFC/RAF

If you need more information about RAF squadrons I will be happy to help as I have the history of the RAF, Sqn/dates 1st and 2nd World War and up to the present date etc

Happy now?

Cool that we can write our own combat reports but does anyone know how the official paperwork looked after a mission?
Can anyone provide a link to such reports?
