Driver's Update 2 - May 21Pit Groups and Custom Skins Download:This download package replaces the ILMS v2.77 vehicles with Pit Groups and skins selected for the SimHQ MidOhio race on 23 May 2010. File size: 190MB
http://www.simhq.net/downloads/motorsports/rfactor/SimHQ_2010_MidOhio_2.5/MidOhio.zipDownload File Installation:1. Navigate to \rFactor\GameData\Vehicles
2. Backup the entire "ILMS" folder so that you have a backup of the complete and unmodified vehicles in the mod.
3. Delete the "ILMS" folder.
4. Copy the downloaded folder to your main \rFactor folder.
Manual Corrections to the Download:1. Rename "helmuts" to "helmets". Yes, JonC supplied it correctly.
2. Skin in the wrong folder - move the file:
\rFactor\GameData\Vehicles\ILMS\AstonMartinDBR9\2008 ILMS Aston Martin DBR9\skins\coutie_33_gt1_db9.ddsTO...
\rFactor\GameData\Vehicles\ILMS\AstonMartinDBR9\Jet Alliance Racing DBR9\skins\coutie_33_gt1_db9.ddsNote: The two corrections have been made to the download zip. The manual editing is only necessary for those who have not downloaded the zip file previous to 0600 GMT, 22 May.
Subsequent Downloads:Joe and I think we have the pit stall problem resolved and all cars have their proper skins and are included in the download. HOWEVER, if a follow-up, mandatory download is required, check here before getting on track.
Once Online:1. Confirm you can connect to the server.
2. Confirm your car is appearing correctly including the skin.
Start of the Race:Confirming the MidOhio start/finish line will be used. We had discussed at one point moving the starting line. Also, the start of the race is when you hear race control (that would be me) call out "Green flag! Green flag!" on Teamspeak 2 and NOT before. Anyone passing a competitor prior to the verbal "Green flag! Green flag!" is subject to a possible drive through penalty.
For the start, lets go with 2x2 for the formation lap. Leave a 2-3 car separation between you and the car in front of you.
(added May 22)Teamspeak 2 Communications:As always, you MUST be monitoring Teamspeak 2 race communications or you will not be able to join the race. To download, install and configure for the SimHQ Teamspeak 2 Server, look here:

This practice race is another opportunity to get used to the traffic encountered at MidOhio's blind, elevation changing turns. Both Piotr and Chunx have posted words of wisdom in dealing with the potentially lethal traffic situation. I strongly recommend you read/re-read their posts in this thread.
A special thanks to Joe Keefe and Kevin "Ktel" Thompson for their work on the pit stall files.

Driver's Update 1 - May 10Here is our schedule for Mid Ohio with regards to car skins and pit stall assignments. This is as late as we can make it and still allow Joe enough time to edit and check the pit stalls.
1) The entry list for the race will be closed
Wednesday, 19 May, 2200 GMT.2) If you are creating a new car skin for Mid Ohio:
a. Please email it to me (guod@SimHQ [dot] com) no later than
Thursday, 20 May, 0600 GMT. I will reply to you that it was received.
b. Also, please post in the Mid Ohio thread you are changing to a new car skin.
c. Please use either zip or rar file compression and recursive folders.
d. Requested file format naming convention:
yourname_carnumber_class_model. For example: guod_700_LMP2_PorscheRSSpyder
e. Do not use the "#" in the filename.
3) A new ILMS vehicles download folder -- which will totally replace (NOT OVERWRITE) your current "rFactor1\GameData\Vehicles\ILMS" folder -- will be available for download
Friday, 21 May, 0600 GMT. I will provide the link in the Mid Ohio thread and in a PM to you.
If you have question or comments about this info, please post in the Mid Ohio thread.
Please double check the first post in the Mid Ohio thread and confirm what you're listed as driving is correct.

Event DetailsDate: Sunday, May 23rd, 2010
Time: 1 PM Eastern Time
If you are not familiar with the Mid Ohio course, it is every bit the sweeping, wide, fast track that Fuji is with good run-off areas.
If anything, it may arguably be even more beautiful than Fuji.
