In short, I've figured out some causes to common problems in LB2. I compiled a database to address the following issues: 1) Failed program execution 2) Program crash at debriefing 3) Freezing 4) Options menu Ghosting. It works on Win 7 x64, and likely on other Vista/7 platforms. Just for kicks I also included a glide wrapper with a working config if you want. I got home late tonight and tested it. 8 missions before a crash.

Here it is. Worth a try, easy to install and uninstall:

I'm giving up on it due to untamed CPU issues (can't work on it forever), but I wanted to share what I've figured out to anyone still trying to keep it going through one more OS smile. Was one of the few computer games I actually enjoyed. Hope this is useful for someone. If you want details on what specifically was causing the issues I'd be happy to provide them.

Nice one, and as always I will put it on my site when I get round to it. Does this fix supersede the previous one you sent me?

Hey Flyboy. Yes it does supersede the last one. The last one didn't fix the freezing problem associated with XPSP2 Compat mode. This one is based around a hybrid XP/95 Compatibility mode (minus the stuff that makes those modes crash). So since some people reported it working better on one or the other, hopefully they get the best of both worlds.

OK, thanks. I'll put it on my site.

You'll soon be able to have your own page on my site if you keep churning out these fixes!

P.S. I haven't got round to trying them myself yet.
