The problem with 64bit OS, is they dont run 16 bit programs, AFAIK.
They can run 32 bit, but 16 bit is left behind.

I dont have 64 bit Vista or XP, so I cannot prove it first hand.
But I have proven LB2 runs on WinXP and Vista 32bit.

I just now got Longbow 2 running on a 64-bit XP, so I do not think that it is a problem. LB2 must be a 32-bit application (it was made in Windows 95 era, right?), so the 32-bit emulator that comes with all 64-bit Windows OS's should take care of it just fine.

How did you get it to run?

All right, sweethearts, what are you waiting for? Breakfast in bed? Another glorious day in the corps! A day in the Marine Corps is like a day on the farm. Every meal's a banquet! Every paycheck a fortune! Every formation a parade! I LOVE the corps!

I can get it to run but only in crappy software mode.

LOL, I never read this thread after my initial post. Sorry! I didn't even really have much to offer anyways -- all I had to do was fire up Dgvoodoo, use the CA.ini fix, apply G+'s compatibility database, and put it in Windows 95 compatibility mode. The sim ran great for years of using Xp x64, but one day I fired up LB2 to discover I had some other issues (namely speed) -- they made the autopilot crash me, SAMS shoot at superspeed, etc etc. I never discovered whether an update or driver change broke it, but it did run fine for a very long time.

The site IS down but NOT dead. Never dead until I am. It seems to be the host site that has the problems, and hopefully should resume normal operation soon. Hopefully!

Please keep trying.

Made the mistake of lending my 'gold' copy to somebody, been kickin myself ever since, lol
Tried a few of the competitor's offerings and all I can say is, 'often imitated, never duplicated' smile
