I upgraded my PC in early February and installed Win7 Ultimate. Previously I had Win XP.

I have a driver CD for my FF2, but Win7 won`t let me install it.
I would like to reduce the force feedback. It seems stuck in maximum and I can`t find a way to reduce it. When flying Black Shark the stick is so hard to move that it`s nearly impossible to maneuver smoothly.
Anyone with a sollution?

I think the software won't work on Vista either so it's probably due to a change in the way the OS lets drivers interact with it. MS changed many drivers interaction with the OS so they could not crash it.

Unfortunately, XP 32-bit is the last version to have proper drivers. The basic ones included in Vista/Win7 are all you get. Seems that Microsoft doesn't even care to support their own products sometimes.

Nevertheless, it should work just like my SWFFB Wheel works-plug it in, make sure it shows up in the Game Controllers panel, and set everything up in-game/sim, including FFB. That's all you can do.

Have you tried adjusting the FFB level under BS controls?

No not yet. I guess that`s the only option now.
Another strange thing is that I bought another used MS FF2 and it feels better than the previous one. It has a red "power on" light instead of green. Maybe they changed something during production?
I tried it in FC 2.0 also and it is much better.

Red light? Does it also have red buttons and a rubberized grip?

That's a second-generation model with some under-the-hood improvements as well, or so I've heard. (One of them being a better FFB processor or something like that.)

The FFB wheels also got a similar treatment-first-gen ones had green-backlit "FORCE" text and were all black, while the second-gen ones had red rubberized grips, silver paint in the center of the wheel, and red-backlit "FORCE" text.

It is posible to run MSFF2 in W7 32bit with original software. Its a bit hackish but working great to me, first of all you must turn off NX protection, then extract MSff2 drivers from XP install cd, force update generic driver in w7 to drivers extracted from XP. To install software you must set setup.exe compatibility to w2k ...

Do not try it in w7 64 bit , it will never work since msff2 sowftware and driver from xp is only 32 bit. Its only one breaker for me to not use 64 bit system.

I know this is an old thread.
I have an old MSFF2 collecting dust I plan to offer to a friend that runs Win 7. He will probably be using it primarily for Rise of Flight.
So, what I'm reading here is that the ff is working? What are the limitations or lost features by not being able to install the drivers?

Im using it with Win 7 64 and have no issues at all. Forcefeed work fine. Every game that support forcefeed works fine too. I think the drivers are in Win 7 becasue it regognized it as soon as I pluged it in.
