Most are historical, the dxii and dviii are fictional. You can download them here: Jasta 5 paint hangar piccys on page are old though, will be updated with new shots of the updated skins eventually. On another note, some nice new skins there by musicman. Takeing a back seat at the moment makeing missions for j5 but always nice to see what new skins others make.

Beautiful work. I see in the first post in early 2009 that these will not show in multiplayer online . I haven't read all 29 pages! Is it still the case that custom paints will not show in multiplayer? Is there a different method for getting custom skins to be visible online? I feel I might as well start my MP career with a big bullseye painted on my wings Thanks for the reply

Good questions Blazingstar. There's currently no way to display custom skins to other players online.
In fact they only way they can currently be displayed is with "mods active" checked, which prevents one from playing online anyway.
Neoqb has acknowledged that this was an important aspect of WW1 aviation, but there are currently issues (I believe it has to do with lag/online skin transfer loading times). They indicated that they hope to have something worked out in the future. I hope they do too.

Too bad.... Hope they work it out. I may not be much of a flier, but I'd at least like to look cool and go down in style.

This is and update of my Udet DVII I converted over to an F model. If you don't have a DVIIF folder already create one like this. "C:\Program Files\Rise of Flight\data\graphics\skins\fokkerd7f" The zip only has the DDS file in it. My original Ernst Udet DVII has 408 downloads so far. Of all the skins I've done, this one has been the most popular. Also posting on front page along side original. I made two. With and without engine cover. Both in zip. Brilliant work, everyone!
When the persistant servers are available, I'm going to try and host one with "Mods On" to allow skins to be shown.
Yes, we'll have to download each other's beforehand, but that's okay with me!

Musicman: Great, just the info I was looking for!
Dart: Excellent idea. Hopefully I'll be brave enough to be playing MP by then!
I think online custom personal and squad paints can contribute to increasing a sense community identity with ROF. Which of course is good if this game is going to continue to mature properly. Even if it means we'll have to download ahead of time, that's cool. I remember Flybert's MP Paints for RB3D and what a cool community paint repository that was.

Musicman, where are you man? We need your skins in mods off mode. You need to make a pool for approval at ROF website and you need to provide info about your skins you want to be included. You did some great skins and your skins are needed. Currently we have only few for Se5a and you made 2-3 colorful historical skins which I would like to see in mods off. Can you send them for approval or you can authorize me to do it for you. Now i have time.

LOL, I was going to show off my 84th Escadrille skins (completely unhistorical), but sticking a fox on a fuselage seems rather amateur.

I'm still here Tvrdi! We already contacted each other. Seeing how I re-did my Bishop SE5, I thought I would go ahead and post it. This is my second most popular skin. It is a total rebuild, Old skin is down and this will replace it. Also on first page... I have re-done almost all of them so I'll get the popular ones up first. Stay tuned! very nice musicman, as always..pitty I gave up on all this with skins since approval thing + description for languages and a fact that approved skins would be seen only if someone downloads them sucks....they could approve few best historical skins for each plane and to include them in udpate....on top of all Lefty is riding again.....with his old "glory"....
