Ok so it's only missions that have been generated with the Career module?

But I don't think this is what Patrick is complaining about.

So far that seems to be the case; it's one of those things where I was only fooling with career generated missions. I downloaded some "made from scratch" missions and they work as they should under their own folder.

I got them to play by fixing the SPAD models and placing an "end mission" MCU into them, giving a clean integrity check.

Something else is missing in them, though. I can get the mission to show the briefing and play if it is the only thing in a folder - and it doesn't show as an individual mission under the folder. I click the folder and the mission brief appears to the right, as if it is the mission title itself. If more than one mission is in there, it shows nothing, including a briefing.

I suspect its in the mission properities - a title or something not populating. This would make sense, as the career missions are designed to automatically launch when selecting "next" in the GUI. The option to select one of several just wouldn't be a concern (and might screw it up).

This could also be Patrick's issue as well, so maybe if I find out what the deal is the matter will be solved.

The manual for mission building is, um, difficult, as it seems to assume one knows something about scripting language. I'm just going to have to get up to speed on the skill set required; then again, its not Neoqb's problem that I signed up for a level 400 undergraduate class with just a High School diploma!

My hunch was correct. In the properties it was listed as "intercept a fighter patrol" as type; changing it to "single player" did the trick.

Jason asked me to come and check this thread out. Looks like I was late - as Dart found the problem.

The same exact thing will happen to a person who attempts to convert a Quick Mission Skirmish generated mission for Coop play. The _gen.mis/_gen.msbin get written with Mission Properties/Mission Type: set to "Quick Skirmish" versus "Cooperative".

So if you don't know to change the Mission Type: to Cooperative - the game cannot see the mission for coop play either.

The rotary could not re-circulate oil,so it had to dump it out onto the airframe. Castor oil, consequently, covered the entire aircraft after a short time. Even worse, atomized caster oil blew into the cockpit and impregnated the pilot. Pilots needed scarves to clean their goggles and faces. Since castor oil is a laxative, pilots suffered serious consequences after a few hours of flight. But such was the need for maximum power

Dart, do you have the "Drone" missions? Those nolonger show up either. Tried re-saving one of them in ME and made sure that it was set to single player but it still won't show up. No idea as to why.

The only thing that has worked for me is...

1) Copy all mission objects, MCUs, etc.
2) Save as a "Group" file
3) Create a NEW mission (with nothing in it) and save it before doing ANYTHING else
4) Paste the previous "Group" file into this new mission
5) Save again.

missionType = 0 works. Not sure why I had problems when I tried this before, but it does work for me. I will post a 3.1 ASAP.

Hedge,

If you are referring to the old Russian Roulette missions, I dropped them into mine just fine. They show up and play without any alterations or issues.

Hedge ??

No, the Roulette missions are fine. The one I'm taking about are the "Drone" missions where all the planes just fly in a large circle. This way you can practice shooting at them and they don't evade. They worked ok untill this last patch. Not a stopper or anything but strange why they no longer work.

Hmmm, didn't have it, so I can't comment.
