A video lesson or two on the use of the Auto TDC:

http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=163076

Edit: At least the first tutorial teaches a bit about the new "Circle" system for Auto TDC, but his second video is a bit strange to me in his approach to firing the rear torpedo. He explains why he doesn't set up a 90 degree angle, but it still doesn't make sense since after firing the rear torpedo he has time to reposition the boat for a front shot if it becomes necessary. Instead he relies on the torpedo's ability to turn after launch to make up for a ridiculously bad angle. But that's just my opinion.

I read at Subsim that when in auto-TDC, you can bypass the little 1,2,3-circle method by NOT locking the target (spacebar) when aiming with the periscope - just aim and shoot. I have not confirmed this.

EDIT: CORRECTION! Sorry, first lock the target, then unlock it. Here is s simple tutorial with pictures:

Alright, got the game before my last Army exercise and have yet to play it. I have a week or so to play it before leaving again.

From the reviews, its obvious it needs some serious patching.

In the mean time, if I was going to install say 5-10 mods real tonight, which ones should I choose?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Just thought I would reccommend this mod. It's called Environmental Mod version 1.2 by W Clear:
