The "on-rails" type of game should be considered a sort of sub-genre. It can be done so well that it is like being a participant in a movie. BFBC2 is a great example of this. I've been playing the campaign part of the game for a couple of weeks and it totally kicks a$$. The voice acting is top quality. The story is immersive. The graphics are excellent. But that's just my opinion. I've also heard that the multi-player is fun, but I haven't tried that yet.

What I find great about it is when I play, I play with the M1 Garande, and when you fire the round, you hear an audible echo and crack from the bullet being fired. I've never played a game that sounds like that. I was playing with a friend last night that said that when one of the boats came out of the water, the propellers were actually rotating in the right direction. I think it's the attention to little details that set the game apart.

Set the audio to War Tapes. Fire the .50 cal sniper. WOW. LOL
I don't have much time in the SP campaign, but so far I really do like it more than the last one. The last was humorous but that novelty wore off fast and I never finished it. This one I'm sure I'll play through it. Wouldn't have minded the characters and voice overs being a little more serious, but they did a good job straightening it out as far as they did. Much more fun than COD MW2, considering they're both "hallway" shooters.

I haven't touched the single player. I can't stop playing the multiplayer long enough to do that.

I tried the SP but got bored real quick, too many cut scenes and useless team mates, don't even know why they are there.
MP is great fun.

I finished the SP when all the initial problems with the servers were present and really enjoyed it. Far superior to MW2's SP even though they had a few similar locations lol.

The SP dialog was great. Awesome one liners and Hags is awesome.

You guys need to stop. I love the multiplayer and don't have enough time to play that. Now I want to play single player too.

Really liked the SP part, too. IMO in between MW1 (which was absolutely great) and MW2 (which was...okay.).

Sound indeed is awesome. Firing a assault rifle on full auto in a tunnel is...amazing.

MP is great fun, too.

yep
