Hello!

as I had my first day off since I bought a new 23" monitor and a HD3850 AGP graphics card, I was itching to fly my first few real combat hops in OFF, using the Fokker EIII, starting early in the war, inspired by reading "Sharks amongst Minows";
yet, after getting the "Clear - Contact" message, the game displayed an error message to the part OFF again;
I am puzzled a little bit-I uninstalled the game and will reinstall at the weekend again, but can anyone tell me, what has caused this error?

thanks in advance for any tips

cheers
BL

Hi, I would say that the error message had to do with configuring OFF. You changed your monitor and graphics card right? Well you need to go into the Workshop and setup your CFS3 confiq.. You need to set resolution and anti-aliasing in there and set your sliders for best performance. Visit the webpage if you need suggestions for your graphics card settings. Best wishes.

i did not think about just running the config again-normally when some file is missing, its reinstall all over again-at least thats what I am used to smile

And everytime you change the graphic card drivers you've also to run again cfs3config again.

BlackLion welcome.

It depends on the full error message, with the millions of combinations of PCs/hardware /software there can be many errors! and we need to know specifics. In future mention exactly what you click on/did, what you see, what the exact error is.

Anyway if it mentioned configoverrides file missing / out of date, then this is the reason the guys gave above, if you update graphics drivers you MUST re run the graphics config in Workshop (which runs cfsconfig.exe).

Hello Gentlemen!

once more, thanks a lot for the competent and fast help!
indeed, the change to a new CAT version must have been the culprit;
as I changed from a X1950 to a HD3850 graphics card, I also installed new drivers;
as my bread and butter sim is IL2, I need to dive a little bit deeper into the inner workings of CFS and OFF to fully understand whats going on and why;

anyhow, thanks once more and see you in the skies above Flanders;

best regards
BL
