You see, these things kind of puzzle me. I was flirting with this hot chick - a consultant that sometimes works for us. She initiated some of that. Her bit of work is now finished here, but she bothered to contact me after, to ask stuff like "who won at bowling" (my team were on a bowling night a few days ago) and to tell me how funny some comedian she saw the other day was. Not to mention, when we were out drinking after work she would laugh at my stupid jokes. Even my colleagues joked about it "she must like you if she laughs at that crap" LOL. Anyway, as another piece of work she was supposed to do in a few weeks time is now cancelled, I thought I won't wait until she'll be back god knows when... So I kept exchanging emails with her and asked her telephone number. She gives me that. Now, I read this like a green light - sort of. So I phoned her and asked her out. She is telling me she has a boyfriend. What on Earth?! Anyhow, we made a few jokes about it and left it to that - still in friendly terms - you imagine some awkwardness can appear at this point.
I keep thinking maybe I can't read these things, but logically, think I was right, I went through the "right" moves... if there's such a thing... smile
So, m@verick I say go for it - what's the worst that can happen? LOL. I would have regretted it not to ask her out...

Never dip your pen in company ink.

Exactly, but my internship ends on friday, and I'll never return, that's why I'm entertaining the thought.

Well, there are a few of them around, but any natural colour then red works for me smile

Personally, I think you may already be too late since you didn't seize the moment.

Yeah, crossed my mind as well.

Regardless, no big deal, really. Just art appreciation, and I only want people's reflection on the current state of affairs.

Ask her. Even if she says no at least you'll get closure.

Another vote for ask her. Some of the lines she used were like hanging curve balls over the plate, just waiting to be hit (American baseball reference).

If I was sitting with a girl I thought was hot and she responded to a "you two should go on a date" with "yes when are we?", my eyeballs would have started counter rotating in my head. Oh yeah, I'd hit on her.

There's subtle hints, and there's gigantic neon lighted signs. This was the latter, at least from a woman's perspective. Now their idea of clear signals and ours differ greatly, but since life seldom plays out like a porno, we must learn theirs.
