Is really hot. And I've been working here for eight weeks and next week will be my last week until back at school. Thus far it's "art appreciation", and nothing more from my side.

Somehow the entire office know that I think she's hot, probably the eye contact me and my friend from school have been exchanging at random times when she's leaning over a table or something and someone saw that, or she and have thus figured it out, or someone told her.

Now last night we were out with the work on dinner and a few of us started talking about relationships. One other girl (males are in the minority at this office) asked me what preferences I prefer (the hot girl is at the table), I said the first thing that came to mind (blondes), my friend said something about "from which part of the country do you want her to originate from". First I said Gothenburg and half a second later her hometown. She laughed and said she maybe should be talking with he dialect. The other girl joked that "shouldn't you two go on a date" and the hot girl responded with a smile "yes when are we?"

Now, I'm not stupid (or am I smile ? ), I doubt this is more then a friendly joke between co-workers, and not even something flirtacious, but a few random thoughts from SHQ would be appreciated. Nothing else happened really, but should I ask for her phone number before departing or drop it? I just somehow feel it would feel clumsy if I asked for her number.

Even when girls joke about something like that, there's a serious truth behind it. I just learned that over the last couple of weeks. Figure out when you have time to take her out, and boldly ask her out. Soon. Girls like assertiveness, but they also hate waiting. <Waiting for Pepper to chime in./>

Ask her out!

That's a lot like how things started with my wife and I. It took me months to figure out that she was serious. She jokes now that she didn't think I'd ever ask her out. LOL

There you are! What the heck are you doing up at this hour anyway, Pepper? But yeah, you hit the nail on the head.

I'll take it under consideration wink

The "shouldn't you two go on a date" originated when I unoblivious seated next to here chair during lunch (she arrived shortly after that) and two others basicly went "ooohhh, she's single, aren't you as well?" and one of them jokingly suggested that the hot girl (when she entered the room) need a "risk management"-guy (what I'm studying for). And I half joked that yest we are going on a date next week, she responde with a smile "fun, what are we gonna do?", after that, that particular conversation died out and a new begun.

But I'm still struggling to figure out here stance if I pop the question in regard to all this. But yeah, I'll probably regret if I don't atleast ask her for her cell number.

There's nothing bad about that. At least you don't have to go through hoops, trip wires and traps cause there are people against you being with the girl. I've experienced such and it's not pretty.

I've also gone through something similar to your situation. However, in my case it went to the point that people I'm not close with would literally tell me "she really loves you". No matter how much the people around would tell me how much feelings she had for me, I didn't believe them. She was "hot" in a sense and I always believed that anything she did or said to me was some sort of "game playing".

Well, looking back, I can't help but wonder what would my life be today if we ended up being together.

So go for it, do what you think you should do... or do everything you think you should do. At least you won't look back in regret as I find myself doing from time to time.

Edit:
just something to look out for, if she's being polite and nice to you because everyone "knows" and "expects" such, be careful. Just leave enough room for both of you to retreat "gracefully" if the situation ends up being too awkward for her... or even you.
