Nice screen Jeevz... I bought it today too... went in to play a mission and had no clue what to do, no tutorial or anything... unless I missed it.

Starting a campaign gives somewhat of a tutorial . . . not a thorough tutorial by any means, but it gives you a sort of shake-down cruise with pop-up tips. In order to get a more solid grip on the details I would suggest going to the Subsim forums where a lot of info is being shared and mods are already beginning to be developed. In particular, visit these threads I linked:

Yeah the campaign starts you off with a rather weak tutorial. I can't imagine how lost the people are coming into this who've never played SH3 or 4. The subsim forums are really helpful.

The game is buggy, really buggy but there are already mods out (I've got 6 in JSGME already) to bypass some of them. What it does right it really does right and I'm having fun with it but it's really hard to recommend in its current state.

Yeah, recommending it is tough at this point, so I have to put almost as many disclaimers as compliments. But I will say this, my experience with the past several Silent Hunter games has taught me that between patches and mods I will get more than my money's worth.

Yep, I hate to sound so down it because I really like most of what's there. I'm pretty tolerant of bugs in new sims since they are so few and far between (the games, not the bugs) but I know there are a lot of people who don't share that attitude. So I say buy at your own risk, I'm 100% confident it will be the submarine simulation on down the road due to patches and mods and I'm comfortable getting in on the ground floor, YMMV.

Right before I had to shut down last night I picked up a big convoy so I'm looking forward to the attack tonight. If I can remember to take screens during the attck I'll try to add some more exciting shots to this thread.

Hey Jeevz what kind of rig do you have and what is performance like? How does performance compare to previous SH especially SH4?

C2D E6850, GTX 280, 4 Gigs RAM (not being entirely used by Vista 32), Onboard Sound. Runs great, I have to turn the shadows down 1 notch and only have AA on the first notch but it runs really well. The only real slowdown I see is right around ports. Perfomance wise it actually runs better in most cases than my heavily modded SH4.
