Catfish, you mean it has been fixed by the developers or the mod makers?

I hope he means an official fix but I can't find anything about it, the mod just disables morale "cost" for special abilites so I don't have to shoot my XO out of tube 1 when he refuses to rig for silent running when there's a destroyer overhead. It appears to me that morale still has an effect on crew efficiency so you will have a lax crew when you reload.

Catfish, okay . . . thanks for the clarification. Jeevz, I wish there was a mod to shoot the XO out of tube one . . . the screenshots alone would be woth it!

If you have used Jimi Madrid's Gramophone song randomizer for SH4, guess what? It works for SH5. You put the exe in your main SH5 folder, start it, but don't click on "Start SH4." Simply close it out and your songs are randomized for the duration of your next SH5 session . . . provided that the Ubi servers are working.

If for whatever reason you are not hearing responses from you crew when you give orders or ask for a "Depth Below Keel" reading (with mod), simply save your progress and exit to the main menu (don't exit to Windows). Then reload your game and the problem should be solved. Might have something to do with TheDarkWraith's GUI mod, the one that gives you the SH4-style control layout. If you do use it, be sure to avoid certain buttons that he warns about in his readme. I can say that the telegraph commands work great as does the "Depth Below Keel" request. Also, it gives you the Gramophone again. I'm sure that over time TheDarkWraith will work out the bugs in his mod, but right now I find it a life saver. I mean come on, no "Depth Below Keel" in the stock game?

I would advise getting the cook's special meal ability maxed out (I can't believe I just said that about a submarine simulation). Even if you're running the morale mod the crew is more efficient if the morale is high and having him whip up a special meal after loading a save makes your crew happy again.

By the way, is there a way to taste the cook's meal when he offers it? I happen to love a good Eintopf (my mom makes an awesome one).

A video lesson or two on the use of the Auto TDC: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=163076Edit: At least the first tutorial teaches a bit about the new "Circle" system for Auto TDC, but his second video is a bit strange to me in his approach to firing the rear torpedo. He explains why he doesn't set up a 90 degree angle, but it still doesn't make sense since after firing the rear torpedo he has time to reposition the boat for a front shot if it becomes necessary. Instead he relies on the torpedo's ability to turn after launch to make up for a ridiculously bad angle. But that's just my opinion.

I read at Subsim that when in auto-TDC, you can bypass the little 1,2,3-circle method by NOT locking the target (spacebar) when aiming with the periscope - just aim and shoot. I have not confirmed this. EDIT: CORRECTION! Sorry, first lock the target, then unlock it. Here is s simple tutorial with pictures: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=165015

Alright, got the game before my last Army exercise and have yet to play it. I have a week or so to play it before leaving again.
From the reviews, its obvious it needs some serious patching.
In the mean time, if I was going to install say 5-10 mods real tonight, which ones should I choose?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
