I just don't understand people who purchase vehicles that are completely unsuited to their needs.
Those are usually people who buy a car as a status symbol more than anything else. It's bascially the attitude of "hey look, I have a Hummer. Aren't I cool?".

Around here the gangsta's drive Escalades and Hummers.....most 'normal folks' would be caught dead in either.
The original Hum-Vee was a great off road vehicle the others were just ugly new bodies strapped onto other trucks Agreed on both counts.
Good people sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf.

Nah, Jeeps still sell like hot cakes everywhere, and were originally for the military (and farm utility stuff). Funny about the H1, some guys in my Jeep club have window stickers that read "Hummer Recovery Vehicle"...and many have recovered civilian Hummers from offroad areas where they had gotten stuck.  At first when Ahhhnold got the first civilian H1 I thought it would be cool to have one. After seeing all of the street customs and stuff I really don't dig them anymore. Plus, most Jeep guys hate H1s.

It is a bling car- the people I see in them downtown are the guys who have the custom rims, big medallions and ball caps turned around like d-bags. With they hos and they dawgz stashed in the back, they ride up on you and bust out all kindz of mad rhymez. You have no choice but to feel it or yo mind be blown outta da galaxy wit yo sorry punk ass game. haha That goes for the vast majority of us! It is just a gradient of bling...haha

I need a pickup truck, so I drive a two wheel drive F-150. And I think the sales statistics bear that out. If I'm not mistaken, the F-150 is the best selling vehicle ever in the United States (?) I could be wrong..but I thought I heard that once. Just basically a perfect utility vehicle for most people.. my gawd, you have guys seen the F-150s with the bigger V8 engines (4.6 and 5.4 V8s)? Without a load I bet they get ~10mpg. Someone who buys that and does not use it weekly on the job to haul materials around in the bed has simply bought a bling vehicle! haha
