The group I fly coop online with are finding that hosting sessions seems to limited to 6 people. The minute we go to 7 someone gets dumped or we start getting error msg's, ctd or freeze ups.
Our solution at this point is to split the group and have 2 people hosting when the numbers increase.
Doesn't seem to matter what kind of system is hosting, be it a i7,3.4g dual core, win7, xp pro,6 or 4g of ram, it's always the same type of results. The people hosting all have very good up and download speeds.

Does any one know if the net code is being looked at in a update for the near future.
It sure would be nice to have 8 to 10 people flying in the same mission together.

Thanks
Fawlty

Fawlty,

Several people complain, but no one offers any real proof of claims like this. It's hard to say, we've discussed this a bit in Beta and it's stil unclear what is going on as everyone has a different story. I've been on servers with more than 6 people flying perfect, so it's hard to say. I haven't noticed any warp that I would not expect to experience in other games including IL-2.

Hey Jason, thanks for getting back.
Here's a reply I made over at the ROF forum with a bit more detail

"I just did a 1000 mile speed speed test during business hours. I got 19mb down and .94 up, which isn't to bad all things considered.
I'd be interested in knowing if the net code is being looked at to improve stability.
MP for myself and about 20 other fellows I fly with, (who recently purchased ROF for coop sessions) is our main interest.
It's going to be tough to get anyone else interested in ROF if MP is limited to 6 per hosted session."

We may try tonight with one of the fellows who has fibre optics, but we're doing speed tests at the moment.

Jason if your interested in flying a little coop with us, give me a shout.
Our ages range from late 40's to 60, we've been flying OFF and modded IL2 for years.
Our main interest in the sim is making it back alive and looking out for each other.
The guy's are all in North America, we use team speak 3 for comms. starting at 8cst

Cheers
Fawlty
