Hi all.

I never was really good at Lockon because I nover took the time to learn well a plane.
But I got some more time recently, so I decided to learn my favorite plane, the F15. But in some training (like the f-15 ECM, a-10 cannon and su-33 evasive manuver) things dont go as planned. Sometimes missile miss and the fighter that was supose to be destroyed... soot ''me'' down, sometimes plane crash by itself....
It's quite lame because I cant do the full training and I miss some important information....

Is there a fix for that?
thanks

Go on www.youtube.com and see if there are training videos to watch. They helped me with Blackshark.

I think you dont get it.....
It's not me that miss the kill or crash the plane.
Traiing in Lockon are made by the Ai so I can read the text.... and see what action the AI is doing in the plane.....

the text continue even if the planed crash... but whats the point if I dont see the cockpit banghead

So rereading your first post and your last one I guess what you are saying is that you are having difficulty in combat. You are not being very clear with your statements.

First you need to understand that missile performance in Lockon is poor at best. That is a fact of life and you will just have to accept it. The AI will always be wiser and have better SA than you do.

I am trying to understand what you mean about the plane crashing all by itself. What is probably happening is that you are getting shot down by an IR missile. They do not produce a warning ---they just kill you.

If that is happening (and most likely it is -----the planes do not just "crash" for no reason) then you need a lot of training in air to air combat. The manual has many pages dedicated to air combat and combat maneuvers. You need to read these instructions about 15 times and fly combat missions for probably 5 to 10 years to become reasonably good at it.

There are no shortcuts to learning a good combat sim. You are not the first person to seek a shortcut.

I have been flying combat sims (many different ones) for 14 years and I am still learning something almost every day.

I will emphasize it again ---STUDY, STUDY, STUDY

No, the problem is the training track system in Lomac is very temperamental and breaks easily, leading to incorrect track payback. This has been a problem with each and every patch since flanker 2, in that all the training tracks had to be redone for each patch. Add a Mod or any number of minor changes and the system falls apart.

For DCS:-Warthog and FC2 the training track will finally be Video files and will always playback with out error.

Genbrien- are you playing vanilla LOMAC or Flaming Cliffs? Because there are known issues with some of the training tracks in you upgrade to version 1.12b. But they should be labeled as such in the track player, IIRC.

Training tracks are a problem as they only work correctly with the version of Lockon that they were made for. That is why you are seeing things not work correctly when you play the training tracks

So you have choices -

do not patch up to latest patch version until you have watched training tracks as much as you want to.

Install two versions of Lockon on your PC. One is unpatched and only there so you can watch training tracks and the second install is patched up and the one you use to fly for real.

Or the third way is to watch the training tracks that have been converted into movies. They are here....
http://www.virtual-jabog32.de/index.php?section=downloads&subcat=50&lang=en

The download at the top of that page (size of 8.2MB) contains all the training text and lots of very, very useful pictures (example below) that you will look at again and again. The rest of the downloads are the training movies - they are very big downloads (some are 300+ GB) so may take some time to download.
