I have read before of some 'false positives' by various AV and malware scanners, often times they are found to be false, though, and I would hope this to be the same.
Of all of them, malwarebytes is the only one to catch anything, which can be read both ways I guess. There are 2 things I can think of that might cause a false report (I know, I'm really hoping here):
a) d3dwindower is a background running utility which means it can get into windows memory space to detect the launch of eaw and to redirect it's workings into a window
b)the 'original' d3dwindower was written by a Japanese guy, and an english speaker has changed the language (font?) that appears on some buttons and controls, perhaps that is an interference??
I know, I know, - I'm just loathe to take 10 steps backward without being really sure, y'know?

If this very old program would be known as dangerus, every virus scanner would have it included by now.
