Hey guys,

I have some very sad news to report. My little wingman Maverick and BEST ROF salesman ever, whom I got as a puppy with my ex-wife - passed away last night. My ex sent him away without my permission during our separation and she secretly stashed him at my former brother in-law's house just to annoy me. Until very recently I did not know where he was. Needless to say this was a major problem during our break up. She finally told me where he was and I planned to go see him very soon and make sure he was ok. However, once I knew he was with a family and around kids who played with him everyday and he had made some little doggy friends I decided that he deserved a a good home and that he should stay where he got the most love and attention. My work schedule and commute made it tough for me to take care of him alone after the divorce. I thought I made the right decision.

Late last night, he ran out the front door as he likes to do on occassion and ran down the street. My former in-laws ran after him, but he ran into a very busy street and was immediately hit by a car and killed instanty. The driver did not even bother to stop. When I heard the news this morning I was devastated. I never got to say good bye to him when she gave him away ad I did not even get to say good bye when he died. I'm so sad he's gone. I loved this little guy so much. How this all went down really pains me. He used to sit in my cockpit with me as I flew beta builds of ROF. Then he made some cute appearances as we eagerly awaited the launch of ROF. He's even in the credits of the game. This sucks.

I just want to say I'll miss you buddy!

Jason

Sorry to hear that Jason. I'm a dog man myself and have been through that more than once.

Not fun.

Really feel for you mate, I've lost a close furry friend similarly, so I empathise.

Sorry Jason.

The last pet I ever owned ... was an old english sheepdog, pedigree and everything. Cost a pretty penny back in 1976 when I found him.

He also experienced a similar fate. Only he was run over by a semi tractor trailor truck.

Never had another pet after that.

S! Maverick, hope you only have clear skies from here on end.

Those little animal companions of ours sure have a way of worming their way into our hearts, Jason. S!

Sorry to hear of your loss ... we (me & wife) have three dogs, so you can say we're "dog people". Sad when a pet dies, but frustrating when they die because of a preventable accident.

Jason,

I'm very sorry for your heartache and loss. He always looked like such a nice and intelligent little fellow.

All the best,

Gunny

The rotary could not re-circulate oil,so it had to dump it out onto the airframe. Castor oil, consequently, covered the entire aircraft after a short time. Even worse, atomized caster oil blew into the cockpit and impregnated the pilot. Pilots needed scarves to clean their goggles and faces. Since castor oil is a laxative, pilots suffered serious consequences after a few hours of flight. But such was the need for maximum power
