Time of day and weather affect the colouring. I see nothing unusual in both cases.

It's like I'm taking crazy pills, but it is my honest opinion that LB2 looks better than almost everything after it, including Black Shark. Theres just something to those 3dfx-graphics. And it doesnt detract from LB2s legacy that its flight modelling and campaign-modus still cuts the mustard! Ohhhhhhhhh.....Electronic Arts and Jane's, or whoever is controlling the rights to this game....GIVE US THE CODE..so we can update the whole thing to become the most awesome heligame ever!

Well all the missions I've played at all times of day and in all weather conditions (as far as LB2 allows), I've ALWAYS had a pink cockpit.

Fritz - I think you must be playing in Software mode looking at your screenshots again as I notice all the pixels used for shading in the 3D cockpit view. Am I right or am I right?

olearo - I totally hear what you're saying about how good LB2 still looks, and I feel the same way about 3DFX games - they do have a distinct graphical excellence to them. Oh and welcome!

I've got similar coloration as IAMFRITZ - a green-tinged world, and the sky that has a bit too much green mixed with blue. It's nothing terrible, although a little odd. Shadow is right (as usual!) about the time of day altering the hues in the world.

But nice job Fritz - thanks for posting this.

It's not software mode- not near grainy & tiley enough, and note the smooth clouds. This is the dgvoodoo software running it.

Maybe I've gone crazy, maybe I am mistaken due to being red/green colorblind — but I think I've found a fix for the pink/purple Longbows. Note that I'm using dgVoodoo 1.50beta, so results may differ. Okay, so... I had the garishly un-manly taint on my Longbows but apparently not any longer. What I did was to set gamma correction to 103%, then 101%, then 99%, and then back to 100%. Note that any gamma adjustments other than 100% made the cockpit bitmaps corrupt in-game. Ignoring this, when I set gamma back to 100%, my Longbow is green-tinted. Not as saturated as those screenshots from the release, but it makes me feel a lot more comfortable with my masculinity to no longer be flying a "girly Longbow."

(Note that I've set colourkeying method to Alpha-based. But as far as I can tell, the only difference between alpha-based and the native methods are that alpha reduces the black pixels on sprite effects.)

If anyone wants to give this a try and report back results, to confirm wether or not my eyes actually work?

Well I've just tried what you said and there's NO difference to me. Setting Gamma correction in dgVoodoo between those values then back to 100% makes no difference (technically why would it?) - and in my settings the default is 100% anyhow. Setting the colorkeying method to Alpha based made no difference either. I did only try Instant Action on my pre-loaded NTC map though (perhaps it's more 'green' with the green AZR terrain?)

My results may differ however, because...
1) I am NOT colorblind! smile
2) I am using dgVoodoo Beta 2.
3) I have an ATI graphics card - perhaps you are using an Nvidea?

Good find though - for you anyhow - and if it makes you feel more masculine after naming yourself 'slutzinc' - well all the better! biggrin

Seeing as some graphics cards has their gamma set to 1.00, 1.01, or 1.03 I do believe that these gamma adjustments may have "calibrated" the gamma between dgVoodoo, LB2 and my horrible on-board Intel integrated graphics card. (I'm running XP through Parallels Desktop on my 1st. gen MacBook.)

And, like I said, colourkeying made no difference to the hues. (If I'm not mistaken it shouldn't, as I think the only thing it does is to ensure that pixels that should be transparent are displayed correctly. (Setting colourkeying to Native for TNTs made every sprite-based FX -- explosions and such -- display a black square around them.)

Since my eyes are banjaxed (I'm slightly colourblind and VERY near-sighted. Thank you very much, Mother Nature!) I'll just post these screens and let you be the judge(s):

EDIT: Damn, Hypersnap made some slight gamma adjustments. These screens are a correct representation of what LB2 looks like:

Yeah, from those pics your display looks almost exactly like mine.
