I suspect there aren't many fans here, but I was a huge fan back in the day. Silk Degrees, awesome.

One of my favorites, Harbor Lights

Great voice, very smooth but also powerful. It's hard to believe that back in the day he was classified as an R&B artist (and IIRC took home an R&B Grammy or 2.)

I was a junior in high high school when Silk Degrees came out. Loved it. Used to invite my dates to listen to Harbor Lights with headphones. When it was over, they were putty in my hands. biggrin

One of the greats. People like Boz could take you 'thru a song seamlessly. It was all about the beat, being in the groove. The drummer and the bass player were always very 'tight'. And you could always count on some creative changes. You didn't know where
they were gonna go but you knew it would be good, and it was good.

IIRC the core of his band was a group of very talented session musicians, who later went on to found Toto.

Loved the live Lowdown video - Boz is just as smooth live as in the studio - and while Neil Peart is my favorite drummer, he swings like a rusty gate when compared to Jeff Porcaro (RIP.)
