Seeing the very controversial BFM thread by KidVicious resurrected it seems to be a good time to post links to my recent "Guns Only" dogfighting videos I have uploaded to YouTube. I do not wish to get involved in any of the technical data discussion or controversy in that thread. So I will chime in with my own opinion on this matter and say it with video. It is through my own experience that pilot skills are always the deciding factor when fighting aircraft of equal or superior performance capabilities. I chose a very mountainous area for the making of these videos and used the terrain to my complete advantage whenever possible. Obviously I was very heavy handed on the use of the throttle, but with dogfighting in this sim its not who lands that wins, it's who remains in the air at the end. IMO its not all about the flight models, or what is or is not in RL, it is about SA and piloting skills. Historical facts prove that many times over. I recently watched a dogfight series on the History Channel, and watched A Dauntless dive bomber take on 3 or more Zeros. I am sure statistical data was the last thing on his mind. Only his wits and SA saved him. I am sure no one would have believed him given the odds, good thing his rear gunner, who was so overcome by the G's and could not even get shots off, was his witness of the totally unbelievable engagement.

All are guns only, with limited fuel and ammo.

Good flying man. Unorthodox in the 2d views and HUD cuing, but you get the job done. Enjoyable to watch.

Here are some videos on what it looks like from my pit. They're full version downloads that have pretty good resolution that allows for good clarity of the HUD and instruments during the engagements. They're relatively short. Let me know if you guys like them.

I can make them that way, but I'm usually flying with music on. So the ones posted don't have any in game sounds.

Though I'm not a big Aerosmith fan, some cds my older brother bought me make great companion music to flight simming... and lots of techno.

Here's another one at 1080p, of getting myself shot up in a 6+min engagement with a buddy of mine. I recorded this before this thread so no in game sounds, sorry rhamphor ;), I'll try to get a recent one with game sounds.
