Hi Everyone,

I had originally posted, this response, to Knegel, in his 3D Cloud thread...
but I thought it should be shared with the community membership, at large.
Not only 'in praise of' but rather 'remember' the past efforts of so many.
Plus to give you a chance to add to my list or express your comments.

----------------------------------------------------------

If I'm not mistaken....this 3D Clouds development
will create yet another High Watermark for EAW.
It will be the next monumental acheivements to be added to a long list of achievements
created by the likes of ;
Charles 'Charles' Gunst release of 'Enemy Coast Ahead' Control Panel...
Dirk 'Emil' Schoorens' who released his DAW and Malta Campaigns...
Jeff 'Salty' Salter and John 'Chompy' Masters' release of the first HiRes Modded Skins...
Nathan 'Col.Landers' Howland's negotiations with the owners of EAW...
Tony 'MrJelly' West's OAWSelector and other EAW Editing Programs...
The Code Groups' release of 1.28exe...
and all the other Modders, Coders and Skinners that have kept this 'Old Gal' alive...

Not only does she live but she continues to grow far beyond, I'm sure, her original creator's expectation
because of the efforts of so many enthusiasts, both past and present.

-----------------------------------------------------

Thank you all pilot
David

PS: This was my short list, as best as these old gray cells can remember.
If I left someone out, my apologies, it was not intentional.....

I wish to make a comment.

I asked to be a member of the community because I had a glorified ideal of the community. The glorification was my fault and the community helped me to realize this for all of the communitiesI would have been a member of, and the 2 I am willing to give of my hobby time.

Modding and sims are our hobbies. We do this learning for the joys and not money or ego. If we try to make money or define our worth (aka ego) by them, we eventualy splinter what we thought we could create. The sharing of the hobby is what keeps it fun.

I have edited this quote to what I think fits this community
Quote:
"...as none care who wins and who looses."

Yes, well said! And that's one of the reasons, why I still play

I will paraphrase some (my opinion) good advice.
EAW is a play. As long as it is a play, then it will be fun for all.

I have never stopped talking to any person who sends me text, but the air is not my first love. I am also not afraid to say my words are often fueled by wrong opinion. I am happy to listen to any opinion and take this opinion into my thought processes.

Sorry to Skylark as I waxed poetic, but it is my honest opinion.

The EAW community is one of the best. They just need to come to terms (for good or ill). I leave it to the individual to decide what I ment.

Hi Aldo,

No problem mate. Not quite the kind of comment I was expecting
but if you throw your hook into unknown waters.
Your bound to catch almost anything...

At this forum, all comments and opinions either pro. or con.
have always been accepted. Mutual respect is what we practice here.

Our EAW Forum policy outlines our community principles.
Our mantra is to improve and enjoy the EAW Flight Simulator.
We know you can't please all of the people all of the time....but we try anyway.

If your passions lie elsewhere then enjoy yourself....
Life is way too short to be sending your time were you don't feel comfortable.

Cheers mate and good luck to you pilot
David

I have to agree with you there Skylark mate, the game has come on by leaps and bounds over the years and the ingenuity of the early modders and especially the toolmakers who have opened up modding to a wider audience should be recognised. The recent speed of development has been somewhat hectic due to the work of our coders in answering some of the more intractable problems of the original game but I am sure that we will see some interesting developments in the modding sphere to make use of all of the capabilities of the latest exe.

cheers,

pobs

On a daily basis your are faced with keeping pace with life and the demands of Work and family,on those rare moments I have time to myself I like nothing more than to check out whats new here and read about things happening in EAW and the lives of those who put so much in.Then I pick one of the many installs I have on my antiquated rig and for a few moments escape the reality of modern life....Its something that has worked for me for over 10 years. Then you read a thread like this and see the names of people you owe so much to,some you no longer see here and realise what if it all stopped? Its then you understand how people you have never met have an impact on your life by simply doing what they do for EAW and this community...Here,s hoping it continues for many more years...A Big thank you to you all.... clapping
