Is the SimHQ server updated with the latest update from the VHR website? There have been two, (latest is called Upgrade Patch 2.0) since its release. Do not assume that the download from the VHR website of 1gb, has the updates. The Upgrade Patch is separate and they do not change the version number. The server must be upgraded as well as the users.
Guys still show up in VHR without the updates and a mismatch error is given.

BVB, as stated on page one of this thread, drivers are required to have V2. One could deduce from that statement that the server will be running V2. Otherwise, guod would be playing a horrible trick on all of us. Show up with V2 and you are good to go.

Have you tested your connection to the server yet? The first page in the thread states everything that you need to know to get connected, but if you are having problems connecting, post here and you will always get assistance.

As is the case with all of our races, the mod, track, and any updates are posted enough time before race day that every driver has time to download, install, and test their connection. We learned a long time ago not to make last minute changes to the program. Ask me how I know.

Hope to see you on the track with V2.

Well, my engine died... not sure why.

I had no practice, joined the server with 2 mins to go. After about 15 laps I pitted 1 lap earlier than the leading pack, missing the crash and coming out behind the SC. I think that I was meant to pass the SC and resume behind the field, but I didn't, which is why it put me first after that? No idea. Anyway, my engine put a stop to it biggrin frown

Well, here's my bench story for today.

At about 2 am this morning I woke up with absolutely horrid pains in my stomach and gas like someone who had just eaten a Mexican platter. I couldn't figure out what the hell the problem was and there was no Pepto Bismol/Immodium/anything in the house to take, so I just tried to roll over and sleep, but just couldn't keep still. Finally at about 9 after getting no sleep I managed to puke a couple of times, felt a little better, but was in no mood or shape to sit in my computer chair for 2 hours and probably wreck someone from not paying enough attention. I guess I DID jinx myself with the practice races!

Oh well, I hope everyone had a great time, I'll try to make the next VHR race you guys do.

Have a fun Super Bowl Sunday!

-Nathan

All I can say is "wow". My primary goal was to finish on the lead lap, but to win my first sanctioned event today was unexpected. Thanks to all the participants, especially saghen for pushing, and guod for hosting.

Congrats, Henny. I was a bit surprised to be up front too. Of course, the initial wreck and the fiasco under caution cleaned out a few people and tore up some race cars.

Early on, in the pack, I collided with the wall and did a little damage to the car. I was unable to close with Henny and bump draft him. I was only able to get somewhat close (2 car lengths or so). I was never really in a good position to pass him outright. I had some chances early on when the pack was all together, but I didn't want to risk pulling out and getting sent back.

My only real chance to get Henny was on the 'pit in' for the splash of fuel. Henny and I were just passing some lapped cars and I was getting some aero help from Chunx and was able to get alongside Henny. Henny and I then both ducked into the pits side by side. I came in a little hot and had to lose focus on him to make sure I didn't get awarded a speeding penalty. Luckily, I didn't, but it caused me to trail Henny by 4 seconds getting out of the pits. Since the next crossing of the line was the end of the race, I had no more chances.

It was an enjoyable race, although not so action packed. I had to keep on my toes to avoid being left by Henny. hehe

I'm sorry about the bad luck that some had. purolator, steve, etc.

Doug. That newspaper headline is awesome. lol Reminds me of Grand Prix Legends.
