Windsock, offline play, DVIIF...nah, the devs don't listen to the community!
I'm still gonna be a pest about better, more efficient dedicated server setup and the needed admin tools, but this bodes well, don't it?

More interested to see what the new single player mode holds, and them sorting out the exe errors which are stopping me flying online. Good news nonetheless, and one in the eye for the Haters lol. Hopefully the new Hun DVII will stop the nomadic "Luftwhiners in disguise" (don't you just know its them? ) from crying for five minutes, they give me a headache heheheh Kidding of course, will be good to have more parity , but I still maintain that Balance is the Devil, if one cares about realism. Please Neoqb do not give in to every crybaby moan, (on both sides). Some are certainly justified, others less so. That way madness lies.

It'll be interesting to see what they do about pricing/not pricing the BMW engined Fokker. It's claimed to be an almost total rebuild, but with some small exceptions it will to all intense and purpose look the same as the old but with improved performance.
In essence will different versions of the same aircraft, weapons/engines etc etc command the full price of a new aircraft ?

Good news.
I wouldn't have made a general statement that the Allies have the advantage online, but I do agree the current RoF D.VII is a wallowing pig compared to what I'd expected, at least relative to some other aircraft in RoF.
Another change I really hope to see at some point is the separation of skins from the "Mods" setup option.

Aye, Damocles....Good point. Suppose we'll just have to wait and see. It would be a smart move on their part if they at least offered it at a reduced price, IMO. I very much doubt it will be for free, and I hope they have not been too 'enthusiastic' in its overhaul to appease a few obsessive types whose lives have been ruined by the previous incarnation . I agree with some criticisms of the DVII, but have a nagging feeling that some want an all conquering invincible uber ride for all the wrong reasons. Even as it stands, it is a formidable opponent at altitude where it belongs. It is less effective as it stands, mainly because of the format of Multiplayer, 1500m furballs, lack of historical tactics (High alt defensive patrols for example where it excelled), and the fact that as per usual people rarely 'Cooperate' in Co-ops.

The biggest problem with the current DVII is the high pitched whine right behind the engine. The BMW version should hopefully fix this to some degree.
Finally a working windsock. Hurray!
And +1 on getting rid of custom skins being considered a "mod." Sheesh, a guy can't get a medal in the career mode if he paints his plane!

Yes, that is good news about the windsock. Another 1+ for the skins/mod issue! I'm also not totally thrilled that the only offline mode is this new "Quick Mission" mode. I would really like them to expand it to Campaign/Career mode as well, which I'm sure a lot of others that are complaining about the need for an always online connection will probably agree. But at least it's a step in the right direction and hopefully UBI with their news of going this route will take heed.

You might want to read a bit more closely, unless I'm missing something very very obvious... you will be able to fly internet-free in single player mode or in the new 'Quick Mission' mode.
To make 'login offline' mode available, all you'll need to do is download the upcoming update. After that, you will be able to fly offline, but only with the last activated online pilot profile. The system will gather statistics of your progress and keep it till your next connection to the server. At that time, all gathered data will be transferred to affect your rating and overall statistics.
