hello
I've just changed my 8800 GT for an ATI 5770 and so, i wanted to try EAW again (no more 7217 error !!). In campaign mod I can't see the briefing screen correctly, so i tried the 1.28c patch (i've used 1.28 before and i had no issue except the briefing screen). My installation is from Micropose CD and i get this message after patching to 1.28c (or 1.28d too) :
"You need a full official EAW installation(EAW CD or payed download) to run EAW 1.28c"

i didn't find anything about that...And there was no problem with 1.28 (and neither before with 1.2a and a nocd patch)
What can I do ? (and i'd like to use the game without CD too)
Thank you to help me...

Hello,

probably you have the french version of EAW, so the chatline.txt is missing, which is by default a part of the CD and normaly it get installed when you make a normal installation, not so with the french version.

Solution: Create a new text file inside the EAW directory(where the EAW.exe is, make a right mouse click-->new-->txt). Name this file "chatline.txt"(if the extension dont get displayed on your side, call it just "chatline").

This should solve the problem.

If not, you are realy missing some default files, what mean that you dont have a full clean EAW installation from CD.

Greetings,

Knegel

Did you do a FULL install and apply the patch to the right folder?
The path for a browser is into th folder where the EAW.EXE resides
(make sure the folder icon is open).

Bonjour, there are French speakers here at the forum. Besides, English is not a requirement to ask questions. But, it does help.

Welcome Bienvenue...

Hello,

Good to see its working now. smile

btw, since EAW 1.28 is only made for the english version of EAW, we did implement a keyboard language EAW.ini entry.

KeyboardLanguage=2 is french.

While offline gaming this is not that important, but online, when you want to chat, its usefull to have the right keyboard layout.

Oh and you also can ask in german or dutch. biggrin

Greetings,

Knegel
