Hi all,

i´m just finished the work for the next modded dgen campaign:

The Zerstoerer /Heavy fighter campaign for the western front and desert.

The campaign shows the different purpose and developemant of the heavy fighters (zerstoerer) and the different roles of duty they had in ww2:

You will start with the Bf110C1 as fighter in Belgium and France 1940. In 1941 you can choose in the balkan campaign between Bf110C4 as fighter purpose or th Bf110C4B as fighter bomber. In the africa subcampaigns you will fly the Bf110´s and the Me210 as fighter bomber.

From 1943 on you will fly the planes as fighter in the german home defense against the USAAF heavies.

In this campaign you are pilot of the ZG 26, the maps are more or less historic for their duty in ww2. In fall off 1944 one group of ZG 26 was equipped with Me 262 for a brief period. This is also in the campaign, in one subcampaign you can only choose the Me 262. In the last two subcampaigns of 1945 you also will be able to chosse the Me 262 and the Ta 152C.

UI 1.1 is missing much of them, all the Trop Hurricanes for example

Wow, thanks. Need to try this out. Why does a day only have 24h? I'd opt for, lets say, 8h plus, just for flying.

You can play the campaign even without BOE - install it and start with the fourth subcampaign "Operation Marita" and it will work fine. The first three subcampaigns (Belgium and france) aren´t available for you - sadly - cause without BOE you can´t play any dgen campaign with the ardennes and normandy map.

don´t want to start a flame war about the best mod pack - but why not switching to UP 2.0 or creating a second install with it, i´m not sure but i think HSFX 4.1 should also work, there are many more planes included as it is in UI 1.1

I've got HSFX 4.1 loaded so I'll give it a go.
I'll double check all the flyable aircraft are included but, out of interest if there are some AI aircraft missing that the campaign tries to load, what is likely to happen?
They just don't appear?

if a plane is not existing, it will not show up - but if for example a fighterbomber is not existing and for this subcampaign is no other (existing) plane assigned as fighterbomber, the mission will not load - its worth a try i think, i included "only" the planes from UP 2.0 and as far as i know, HSFX included since 4.1 the same planes (if not, it´s not much work to add one missing plane to the installed mod pack, all used planes are listed above and in the readme file)

I down loaded the dgen installed and its not working..

I have all the way up todate up2.0m

But the campaigns has no briefing or maps states my map does not exsist..

do you have BOE installed?

I could go into a long-winded diatribe about campaigns designed for installations that contain paid add-ons and only work with those add-ons installed, but I don't want to anger a superb campaign builder.

Besides, there are ways around that bottleneck; the most obvious of which is to buy 'BoE'. But it would be nice if BoE's publishers would bargain-bin the price. Right now 'BoE' costs the same (or more, in some cases) than 'IL-2 1946' does.

But at least BoE isn't as expensive as the PlusWings add-ons: 'Wings over Citadel' still sells for $39.90!

Some guys from the german community bought the BOE addon at amazon marketplace - perhaps it´s a way to get it at a cheaper price.

I also dislike the fact that BOE is used, but it´s hardcoded in dgen.exe that one can´t play the ardennes and the normandy map in dgen campaigns without this addon (and Murmansk and Kurland map not without Ostfront). Western front campaigns do use these maps imperative in IL2 dgen campaigns. I my oppinion it would have been fair to replace this "feature" with Il-2 1946, cause BOE and Ostfront are years ago.

I asked 1c years ago and Luthier via email, when my first free dgen campaign was ready to go, but no answer.
