I am about two weeks away from a new computer. I will pick things up then.

I'm not sure what it takes to make a mission multiplayer, butI don't think that it is too hard. Mostly designating planes as human flyable, I think.

Thanks for the reply Patrick and good luck with your computer. I too may be looking for computer "bits" so let me know what you decided on as far as a replacement graphics card goes. I would be interested to know.

cheers

Oz

New computer is up and running. All source code was saved. I'll be back at it shortly.

PatrickAWilson,

Thanks for making RoF fun, for all its beauty and uniqueness RoF is downright canned and tedious on the combat side of things with little immersion.

However your RoF Campaign (while technically single missions) creates a wonderful experience that immerses the player.

Not only do the missions feel right as in the flight paths and the destinations but the world has other aircraft that are doing their own thing and are not triggered because I happened to run through some magical aircraft generator.

I now have to look around me as I fly because my flight might actually get jumped by the enemy and it is a joy to no longer be required to rush to the magical aircraft generator.

Last but not least the combat has been taken to a whole new level. It is free flowing over a vast area and the enemy are more capable, something I put down the height in which the combat takes place.

Thanks for making RoF a game I anticipate playing.

It's a great addition to the game indeed.

However, let me report some "bugs":

Yesterday I attacked an enemy formation alone. They kept flying straight, until every one of them went down in flames.

Also, when the leader is an AI, it does weird things: sometimes they dive, heading for an enemy formation in the distance, but they don't attack, just circle there. I think it's best if I lead the formation wink

Hi all:

If you ever come across an issue please send me the mission file. It is the key to debugging things.

Reflected:
I purposely have no "high priority" waypoints to avoid the very issue that you describe. AI should always react to being attacked. Obviously there is a scenario that I am not properly accounting for.

If you still have the mission file please send it to me. Thanks.

I've had that very same situation happen to me on a number of occasions, where a flight of E/A just keeps flying straight and doesn't react to being attacked.

And to make matters "worse", every friendly in the area focus' in on those same aircraft that I'm trying to take out with my squad ... it gets very dangerous up there some times with 8 or more friendlies trying to get on the 6 of an E/A .... I've seen multiple friendlies collide and take each other out in the process.

I'll make sure that if I get another one of those senarios Patrick, I'll send it to you.

I believe I found a pattern: flights assigned to protect a balloon don't react to anything.

Also, when there are MG's around, my flight leader starts to circle down to ground level, and fly above him without attacking.

As soon as I turn MGs and balloons off everything works flawlessly. (and my game is a lot faster smile )

otherwise it's absolutely brilliant! I got fed up with MP lately so I joined 56 squadron wink
