Just got my new gaming computer with Windows 7, 64-bit. I have my original IL2 FB CD. Still waiting on my new CH HOTAS. Before I try the install of IL2 FB, should I expect to have any compatibility problems installing and running IL2 FB under Windows 7, 64 bit?

Bob

I would recommend doing a search 1st - then ask if you don't find anything.

I did a search and did not find any conclusive answer.

No particular problems with Win 7 x64 and Il-2 1946 here. Can't say if previous versions of Il-2 FB will work too.

For IL2-1946 on Windows 7 x64, make sure you install by running a.exe on the CD. Do not use autorun.

Also, don't install it to the c:\programs (x86) directory. You'll eventually run into problems if you do (something to do with administration rights and copying and altering of files). Install to another directory instead.

For you folks that are running IL2 on Win 7, 64 bit, are you having to use XP compatibility mode?

Thanks,

Bob
