Anyone got Mig Alley and Total Air War working in win7 64bit?

I can install Mig Alley but I cannot update the patch.
For Total Air War, I cannot install the game at all.

Funnily enough,I am just about to try to get Mig Alley to run on my Win 7 64 system.
Just waiting for my mate to give me my disc back!
If I discover anything I will post up here.

They both run fine in Win 7 32 bit.

InstallShield 2.0(?) doesn't install on a 64bit OS. frown Although TAW doesn't have to be formally installed (nor does it require the CD to run), so you can install on a supported OS and then copy the "...\DID\TAW" folder to your 64bit PC if you want.

I copied TAW to a 128MB flash drive and I haven't found a PC yet that won't run it right off the drive, even having never installed it on those PCs.

What Mark says is true; you don't need registry entries to run TAW. However, for vista or later in x64, you will want to install winhelp for x64 and truspeech drivers. If you use the TrackIR version for TAW, you still need to install the x86 versions of the VC++ libraries, though.

I was inspired by this thread and wrote an article on the TAW Wiki on installing and running ADF and TAW on modern operating systems.

I won't post a direct link here because the TAW Wiki has two degrees of separation from a mod with which SimHQ does not wish to associate. However, if you Google "TAW Wiki" and select the first link that isn't "Wikipedia", that should take you where you want to go. The article is linked on the front page.

Mig Alley installed and ran with no hitches for me, Win 7 x64 Pro. Even updated without any problems.

Ok, I got Mig Alley installed and working in Win 7 but I have a few problems:

1) No radio sounds in single missions. I have engine sound, explosions, and gun sounds, but no radio sounds. If I call the base for a vector, I only get sub titles on the bottom of the screen, no sound. The same result for any radio commands just subtitles-no radio sound. Anyone know how to fix this? (While I was installing Mig Alley in Win 7, an option on a menu did appear asking about installing direct x. I did not do this because I was afraid of messing up Direct x under Win 7, should I have hit the tab and installed the old version of Direct x?)

2) I have a widescreen 1900x1200 monitor. Is there a way to set Mig Alley for wide screens, instead of running in a square box on my wide screen monitor?

3) Is there some sort of config or settings file for Mig Alley where screen resolution changes can be forced?

Thanks for any help offered.

Gary
