Flying a campaign for the USSN:

The mission is to escort SBD's to bomb a Japanese carrier.

We start out fine on the carrier deck

On route we encounter a few Japanese fighters and I get a kill

The mission goes well and its time to land back at the carrier

I come in to steep and bounce over the first set of wires

With the throttle still idle, I hope to catch the wires at the other end but bounce again and miss

I attempt to go full throttle but its too late and I belly land it

At least I survived, I thought.

A quick look behind me is a scary sight

Time to leave the bird!

This is gonna be close!

A little too close!

Not good...

Whew! That was close..

Plane's breakin up..

Not good...again..

My face tells you how bad...

Worse..

I died and it's mission over

4 more like that and my carrier is a Japanese Ace!

Thanks, after a few bad carrier traps I think it's time for me to change to a land airbase campaign!

Nah it was hit and miss back then too so pretty realistic. Great AAR, definitely know that feeling!

Nice find on the vids Wheels! I wonder how many of those were because they were
trying to nurse in a crippled bird. My wipe outs are mostly my error with the plane functioning at 100% duh

Thanks, glad you like them.

That happened a lot too.
It's why it is still one of the most dangerous jobs.
Keep practicing and it will become a little easier but never boring. wink

Zeus-cats's Straight from the Farm campaign is another good learning tool.

You will need to register at M4T to be able to download it though.
Registration and the download are free, BTW.
