Question without googling and it's a difficult one for pub-quizzers although it sounds easy to begin with.
How many primary colours are there?

My next project Work in progress I've found a minor problems skinning this, namely the tail. See for yourselves. The rear horizontal Stabiliser/Elevator of the in game plane starts before or inline where the tail joins the fuselage. The drawing has it further back. My thoughts 1. The two dots on the propellar when spinning what would you see? I assume you would see 2 white bands plus the gaps where the propellar goes. 2. I see this as 1 Single Black line in a complete wrap around the plane What do you think? Splash

That's a unique skin Splash! I like it very much - never seen anything like that spiralling ribbon! I think you've got it right, it's a very striking effect. Haven't got any insight on what the spinner should look like though.
I'm completely guessing here: the game models a variant of the DIII which has extensions on the leading edge of the horizontal stabiliser. The drawing shows very straight leading edge, while the game model is pronouncedly curved.

Hi Ming! Yes I'm back, now with added cores and X52, much easier than bolting a yoke to the desk! Please put the money towards the Fred Goodwin Retirement Fund, thanks to compound interest this means we won't need to give him any taxpayer money in the 21st century and thus spare him all the hatred and broken windows

What do you think? Looks great! 1. The white dots would at low RPM be seen do to the strobing effect from the sun at a give RPM. At High RPM, a blend of color similar to what a prop does when spinning. 2. I think if you adjust the spacing to be even on the ribbon effect it will be fine. I would start at the point on the nose and end at the point on the tail as in the picture, then evenly wind the the ribbon around the fuselage. Would not worry what happens in-between. Just saying this because the last wind looks off, compared to the others. I real like the look you did on this one! Cheers.

I agree with you, I think the 4th and 5th strpes (Rear) on the left side need more of an slant which would space them out a bit. I will sort it when I get back (away for 3 days)and will post an update later. Thanks eveyone for the comments, will take them onboard Splash

Cheers. ROF planes have two spinners in the skin. One for engine off and the other while running. Useing pic above, if there were two dots on the spinner for the engine on you still see two dots like it's not spinning. I was playing with the idea to make it look like it's a blur when running. It would almost just look like a white stripe on a red spinner. The trick is, to not have it look like a solid white stripe. When I ran the animation it didn't look bad. Take a still shot and then you see the dots. I have not painted any planes with a special spinner so I had to play and see how it could be done. Just curios.

... maybe they could fix this and model the spinner with the prop on planes that had spinners, like some SE 5a, SSW's, Neiuports, etc. had. This would allow the spinner to be correctly color modeled and displayed correctly in flight.
Well, you guy's are sure leading the pack on skinning, ....... thanks!

@ womenfly2 Have you got any details of who flew this plane? I've finished the skin, need to name it before I release it for those interested. Splash
