I think I might already know the answer to this but if someone can confirm please....

I know that merely opening the controls configuration in the game wipes out the refueling and photo recon mods, and they need to be reinstalled ..... but how? I don't see anything obvious related to them on the YAP disc - do I need to re-run the installer or is it just fixing some .ini entries?

I'm guessing it's just fixing an .ini, is that correct?

Also, in preflight on the briefing page it tells you to alt-tab out to the briefings folder.... but unless I missed it somehow I don't see a briefings folder in my install. I'm assuming we're supposed to just create one and copy the briefings from the YAP2 members page into it, is that also correct?

No reinstall is needed.
Just copy the entries from a backup copy ini, to the controls ini for the refuel and photo mods that your using.
Yep, make a folder for briefs.

Well, I guess everybody has this same doubts.

I just got my discs and was wondering the exact same thing.

I think the info in THE DIRECTIONS.txt should be more clear.

"4- PHOTO RECCE MOD. Do it."

This doesnīt mean much to someone just staring out! Itīs not clear what needs to be done and why.
I think just by changing the way this is phrased would help other new players a lot and avoid
the need to come to the forums in need of an answer.

4 - The PHOTO RECCE MOD is just some lines that changed in an INI file to make recon missions more enjoyable. However this gets deleted when you open..." ect. This would be a lot clearer in my opinion.

Also regarding the briefings. Why not be specific about it?
You can either see the briefings on line or you can download them to a folder and see them off line. They donīt come with the YAP disc.

Just a few suggestions to make this great product even better! wink

Wing,

I was sure they did come with the install. Will check on that. Thanks.
The directions are also at the YAP site in the FAQ's.

We have never had anyone complain about your unique problem before.

The Directions are very specific. The Photo Recce Mod comes with instructions. You are not left to your own wiles.

Did you ask for clarification from YAP by any chance? Either Mike or I would have handled it but I don't remember this coming my way. Do you Mike?

Scampering to the forum only works if we read it. Addressing questions to us works a lot better since we DO read all of the mail from those addresses and for about 22 hours a day. Our players know that we are an email away and never more than half a day.
