Just as a heads-up for all code hackers.. the location and protocol of the server hosting the EECH code has changed. For the last few years it has been hosted in a CVS repository, however, as of this year we migrated to a GIT repository.

You may find details on how to request an account and on how to check out the code on the following pages in the EECHCentral wiki - overall development and the Git-specific page

But basically it works like this
  • Register to the eechdev mailing list and state that you agree to the EECH license and want to check out the code. Please provide your firstname/lastname and your desired username. I guess you can also send me a PM.
  • Hopefully, after a while, you will be sent an email containing an activation link to the hosting website (http://eech.codebasehq.com)
  • Finish the activation on the site, and install a Git client on your development PC
  • Check out the code

Like already mentioned, more details on how to retrieve the code (and also on how to compile it) are located on our wiki.

Special thanks to Martin Eriya (I'm not sure if he is registered at SimHQ) for providing the account on CodebaseHQ (and covering the costs for 3 years in advance!).

Hehe - what kind of a simulation nut would I be if I wasn't registered with this fine site! wink

Just so people can tie me to the various parts of the online world, I'm also part of the development lists as well current host for the EECH Bug / Issue System (for those who aren't aware of it)

Martin...

I was going to suggest come to a hover and engage hover hold. Or you could engage the autopilot while you're away reading. Wish I could get my copy of EECH 2 to work (or better yet find the original EECH and EEAH to have lots of helos to fly).

So, as mentioned on another thread, I'd like to start helping with the EECH AI.

I can tell from the OP that I should register at the GIT. Should I also use the Bug tracker Exec mentioned?

Please do. People will occasionally report bugs, problems and wishes, and it's also great as a personal "TO DO" list, if you discover things you want to change.

I'm getting some errors when I try to compile.

I had this working a few weeks ago, but now I don't know what's changed.

I re-followed all the steps to get watcom setup, but it's not fixed anything.

The errors are;

E2028: debug_log_ is an undefined reference
E2028: debug_colour_log_ is an undefined reference
E2028: debug_watch_ is an undefined reference
E2028: debug_filtered_log_ is an undefined reference
E2028: debug_colour_watch_ is an undefined reference

Anyone know how to fix these?

Seems like you initially compiled a release version (cmake), and then later made a partial recompile of a debug version (dmake). If you want to switch between release and debug versions you must run the remake script first, so that a complete rebuild is made on next compile.
