Hi!

I have F12 set to center my TIR, but it doesn´t work when RoF is running. Anybody else have the same problem?

I tried setting center to CTRL-F12, but still no luck, even though I believe CTRL-F12 is not "taken" by anything in RoF.

Thx for any help!

F12 is by default the 'free-look' camera view. You'll want to re-assign that to a different key combination if you want to keep F12 for TIR centering.

Or you can change the keys for TIR. Either way works fine. I use shift-F12 for centering TIR myself, with no trouble. But I did remove the in-game F12 key assignment entirely.

Thx Sandman, I'll double-check and delete the F12 key assignment as you say.

Mine is also CTRL F12 and works fine in ROF, how are you activating it? ie...keyboard, mapped to joystick? I have mine mapped to my CH Joy and do not have any problems.

Check your TIR profile that loads with RoF, ensure the correct profile is loading and that the profile has the appropriate key-bindings to match your game/controller commands.

OK guys, found out what the problem was. For some reason, TrackIR wasn't "run as an administrator", which meant that it just didn't work right. I changed that setting and it runs fine now.

Don't know why a whole bunch of programs suddenly stopped "running as an admin". I only have one account on my Win 7 installation, and that is my admin account.

Anyway, just wanted to come back on this if somebody had similar problems.

Thx again for your replies.

Running RoF as Administrator, along with the TrackIR software and any controller software, seems like the way to go -- It almost ought to be the default Windows setting IMO.

One other procedure, to avoid any possible key command conflicts, for RoF or any other software, is to assign the TIR commands directly to buttons, rather than to keys. The default F-keys for TrackIR commands will probably already be assigned to in-game commands by just about any game that would use TrackIR - a conflict waiting to happen. Direct button assignment in the NaturalPoint software is for the specific profile, e.g., the one used for RoF - it's easy.

Yea, but there is a difference between being logged in as an admin, and running the software as an admin. (basically there are 2 levels of admin)

Thanks Vincent. I've only just found out about these two admin levels and couldn't find a way to express this security feature as elegantly as you've done

I mention this as your reply caught my eye because after asking for a support ticket (for a hard drive problem) and not being recognised as an end-user 'Who are you?' I found I'd only created one level of UserID with the (Seagate) company (for registration) and had to set up another one (for support) 'You only created one UserID you need two' Crikey we're all going to end up with two identities eventually. I blame Jill Gates Smile2
